About this ebook

As an autistic child, Joe had always heard about how special he was. Yet, the world was oblivious to lad’s ability as a seer, a modern day prophet. In this short story tale, you’re invited to peer into Joseph Tiego’s life, as he wades and adjusts himself to a mal-adjusted and ill-fated world. Will the daily vagaries of adolescent life distract the youth from escaping his nightmare should it prove to be real?

The ground furiously shook to the chagrin of the pedestrians on the sidewalk, as the windows of the rows of skyscrapers shuttered and fell to the ground. Joseph immediately tried to lower his center of gravity. He squatted, awkwardly, his arms stretched out before him, as his fingers spread open like a starfish, and his lips tucked into his mouth. No sooner had the three seconds long calamity come to halt had the short swarthy bald man looked around in horror. Joe dashed over to a young lady who’d had to hunch her back in order to shield her little daughter from the sharp, piercing showers of shards of glass. The woman had kneeled down, as it were, and now stood up, checking every bit of her daughter’s body, and paying no mind to the fact that a puddle of blood formed beneath her feet. Her knees and shins were the source of the blood, as the streams of leaving red thick liquid flowed down to her sandals and toes.

Hey! I’m calling ambulance. Stay there. The bright eyed fifteen year-old had quickly reached into his blue jean pocket to pull out his phone. It lingered on like a blown trumpet that had been glued to his ears. The lad’s eardrums could ill afford to stop their clamor, as popping sounds within his ears crackled on amidst the madness.

As if nature’s assault on his auditory perceptions weren’t enough, Joe now had to contend with a frying of his vision, as a bright beam of white light accompanied the horrendous sounds in the
