The Tale of Rainbow’S End
()
About this ebook
The Rainbow maker is Soup, a strange little man who is dressed as an artist with oddly coloured hair, skin and clothes. He persuades Lucy that he needs her especially as his transport is the beautiful horse Joe - that once belonged to her. There are references here of Lucys tragic loss and the acknowledgment to the young reader of their own fears of losing loved ones.
Throughout the journey, the friends experience a variety of problems but also wonderful times where magical things assist them.
Although this story is a fantasy I believe it would appeal to readers age 6/7 to 12 years as the language is fairly advanced. It would also appeal to younger children if read by an adult. The full-page ink illustrations and a variety of smaller symbolic drawings are included throughout the text.
Margaret Evans
Margaret Evans has been writing creatively for over 15 years. A practising holistic therapist with an Honours degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies, Margaret first began exploring her writing through a science fiction piece, set 100 years in the future, which gave her the desire to pursue writing further. Margaret also qualified as a dance teacher and for many years ran her own dance and theatre school for children. Through this work, and the experience of being a mother and grandmother, Margaret gained a deep insight into a child’s wild imagination. A wonderful place, and one she hopes she can take you and your children, through her magical story ‘A Tale of Rainbow’s End’. Margaret is a qualified Master in Reiki Natural Healing. She also spends her time exploring the ‘mind, body and spirit’ – through research of religion and spirituality, and private contemplation. Margaret is writing many works in the field, which she hopes to publish in the near future. The origins of ‘The Tale of Rainbow’s End’ came from a dream, which proved to be the beginnings of a wonderful story.

What a surprise!
Lucy drowsily opened her eyes and blinked in astonishment. The whole of her bedroom was filled with the strangest RAINBOW coloured light, a luminous, downy substance. It was soft and fluffy and covered everything, the walls, the furniture, the books and pictures, the toys and all over her bed. It even came right up to her chin! As she climbed out of the quilt she realised that this fluorescence was coming into the room from the chimney above the little old fireplace. She quickly dressed in a tracksuit and trainers and thought that the first thing to do would be to open her door and find her mom. Just as she was about to turn the handle, she suddenly felt her feet lifted from beneath her and she was gently wafted; head first, straight up the chimney! Fortunately the substance surrounding her was soft and squashy, like dry marshmallow, so she was not hurt at all.
POP! Out of the chimney she shot and landed on her back, sinking into a wonderful, delicate cloud. All she could see was deep blue sky and thick puffy clouds stretching forever and ever. Sticking out of the middle of this was her own bright red chimney pot, out of which she had just
