Why now?
People say that there are certain events in one’s life that are best forgotten. It sounds so simple. Forget and go ahead with life. Do not dwell on the past; focus on what lies ahead. Be strong enough to let go. Things happen for a reason; be patient and you will get what you deserve; forget the past.
Are life events really so easy to forget? Should we really try to forget them? When is the right time to let go of memories? Bitter memories. Who decides for you whether memories are bitter or sweet?
5 years ago an event took place in our lives which left me and my wife, Pallavi, shattered. I decided pretty early that come what may, I am not just going to forget. So I put down my thoughts, as they flowed, along with the tears in my eyes, and shared them with close friends and relatives who had stood by us at that point of time. That was 5 years back.
But I never forgot. Never tried to forget.
Two recent events made me think. Think hard. Think really hard.
