About this ebook

This book is a compendium of texts I wrote as 'homework assignments' for my original guru, Hans, and a couple of texts composed at a later date. It reflects some of my adventures, thoughts, and experiences on the spiritual path.

How I went from wasting time with High School, College, and Drugs, to being Self-Employed

    September 13, 2011

    I have a humble job

and lifestyle, but I am well-fed,

(above: locally harvested kelp drying by the fireplace)

    am blessed with good friends,

(above: vehicle toilet papered during meeting of 'secret society')

and earning enough money to travel the world

(above: Indian sadhus demonstrate technique at kumbh mela, Haridwar 2010)

or do volunteer work in the winter

    (above: hard working volunteers)

    - in my own simple way, I am free and prosperous. Just 8 years ago, however, I was a recent college graduate with no real life skills and somewhat debilitated by the use of alcohol and marijuana.   To keep this post to the point- the point of this post being how I made, and, by extension, anyone else can make, the transition from unemployed to self-employed, I will skip a lot of boring historical information, and instead focus mainly on the attitudes and behaviors that have been helpful for me.

    1. First, through suffering, and what i interpret as good karma from the past, and the grace of God and Guru, I got really interested-interested to the point of actually making
