Many parents have complained to me over the years that their children are not doing well in school despite studying consistently. This reminds me of the saying by Albert Einstein which says that "Doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results is insanity". If you are one of those students who study relentlessly but achieve only average results than you do have to change your methods and follow what I have written in my book. You cannot expect to achieve different results if you continue to do what you have been doing all this while and being an average student. Burning desire

A young man had once asked Socrates the secret of success. Socrates asked the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. When they met, Socrates asked the young man to walk with him towards the river. They continued walking until the water level was up to their necks. Socrates suddenly took the young man’s head and ducked it into the water.

The man struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until he started turning blue. The young man struggled hard and finally Socrates released his grip and let the young man get out. The first thing the young man did was gasp for breath. Socrates asked What did you want most when you were there? The man replied ‘Air’. Socrates answered ‘that’s the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted air, you will get it. There is no secret.

Now do you have this burning desire to excel in your studies? If you do then you are already on the road to success.

Which road will you choose?

Supposing you have two routes to reach your final destination and you have to make a choice. The choice is entirely yours and yours alone, which of the following two routes will you take?

Route A - 13 kilometres of rocky road followed by 50 kilometres or more of sandy beaches with many stops in between with lovely food and wonderful sights and entertainment.

Route B- 13 Kilometres of easy going roads followed by 50 or more kilometres of bad roads with broken bottles strewn on the road.

I will of course choose route A and I hope to convince you to take the same route as I have chosen. Believe me, many choose to take route B. Perhaps you are one of them. You may be wondering why is a book on studies talking about travelling but let me
