The Intro

She never could understand the friend I needed her to be. Just a few kisses in the dark, words shared as art and a few nights of making love, is all I can remember from being in love. Is that my tragedy? Tragically, it's as if magically Cupid reversed his spell on me. Most days I walked with rusted dimes. What's outer beauty if your inner light doesn't shine? So now I find myself lost, looking for a trace of a happy time in this place. Looking to fall in love with love. But is that possible? See, she never understood the type of friend I needed her to be. Just to say that once in a while she needed me. To tell me when I said the right things. But she only pointed out when I was wrong. And there's nothing wrong with being alone as you write your song. How long does it take to fall in love with love? See I fell out of love with love 1 year, 1 month and about 7 days ago. And then I found myself Holding 18, and Conversational Love Makin' with a butterfly, I got schooled by a Professor, to a flurry of poems ill-written and trashed, and for a short time I was So Anxious. And now that my nights between the sheets are over, I gave birth to you. She could never understand how to make me feel like a man. But you have listened to my Extended Single Play. For that I will forever love you.
