Introduction

Throughout my life I have searched for the spirit of God within and around me as I followed the teachings in the Bible and the Holy Spirit of Lord Christ. I realise there is no meaning in enjoying the Holy Spirit myself unless I can work as His instrument to help others towards their perfection, peaceful coexistence and elevation.

I realise that only as much as I have truly reoriented myself and gathered His spirit to work through me can I be useful to others. The Lord said, ‘Love your Lord and your environment as your own self’.

It has always been a source of concern to me, how I can best love my friends, family and society – the children of God – and help them to be free from their ignorance and suffering, as I try myself to remain free and in tune with His Spirit so that it will work through me.

I found it bewildering to see how the followers of different faiths are unable to love and embrace each other. Rather, they feel separated and isolated from each other.

In the core of my heart I wished to find a living teacher. I wanted someone through whose divine life, love and spontaneous guidance I could achieve the qualities necessary to enable me to realise truth, make myself free and help others.

Fortunately for me I met a living Master, Sree Sree Mentu Maharaj. I accepted him as my Spiritual Guide. In his contact the spirit of Lord Christ has been awakened within me.

I realised that God is One as the Creator and the creations. All the Prophets, Masters and Messengers carry His Holy Spirit, the universal love and wisdom. They are essentially the same.

I grew to understand real religion is to follow some basic principles of Being and Becoming, along with others. To follow these common principles, through faith in a living Ideal, Prophet, Master or Messenger, is the essence of every religion.
