    Dedications

I would like to take a quick second to thank everyone who has supported me over the years. It really means a lot to me. I hope to continue to have your support in the future as well.

    The Chaotic Day

Chaos is the only word I could use to explain it. Total, absolute, mind numbing chaos. You may be asking what could be so chaotic that I would have to explain it like that and I have two words for you. Thanksgiving Day.

My name is Ella and I am a normal fifteen year old girl however my family is anything but normal. I mean this in the literal sense seeing as I am the only human in my family. When I was three, I lost my biological parents in a mysterious car crash, and it was labeled as such by the police since the car spontaneously combusted and I was the only one to survive somehow. A few months later, this nice couple named Eternia and Lavion adopted me.

Lavion is a werewolf and Eternia is a fairy. However, they are the only ones in my crazy family who look remotely human. (Even though some people think that Eternia is a porn star because of her extreme beauty)

Lavion is very handsome, he is roughly 5’7" and his long brown hair goes to his waist, which expand every full moon to wrap around his body. He constantly has a puffy, furry tail but he’s able to hide his tail under his pants and boxers so it looks like he doesn’t have a tail at all until the full moon comes and he always ends up ripping his clothes to shreds since timing the transformation is near impossible. Trust me, we tried. He is very caring and very passionate about his job as a lawyer and he next to never loses a case. I sometimes wonder if it’s from his many years of experience since he’s over two hundred years old.

Eternia is a fairy and does protective magic in order to protect the family. She runs a little magic shop in the shopping district of town. She is very pale and has almost bleach blonde hair and her body is every teenage girl’s dream. Well, those who have eating disorders I guess since she’s extremely brittle and tiny. She’s only five feet tall even for her Three hundred year old self. She actually looks as if she should be in high school. No counter that, make it middle school.

Then you have my Aunt Marion who is a witch. The kind you would think from the old fairytales. She has ugly puke green skin, wrinkles galore, warts on her nose, and long wire like black hair that sticks out all over the place as if she stuck a fork into an electrical socket.

Uncle Bobby is a ghost who is able to pass through walls and calls himself Casper but unlike the Casper in the movies, he is nothing but a puff of smoke with no physical form. He can’t even remember what he really looked like and he likes tormenting people in good fun instead of just existing.

Then I have three small nieces Nana Nika and Rena who if you haven’t figured out by the semi-rhyme scheme are triplets who belong to Aunt Marion and Uncle Bobby and please don’t ask me how that’s possible since they’re neither witches or ghosts which is pretty weird.

They’re fire-breathing dragons. They are young, about four in human years and they are so cute. They look like dragons but they are tiny, about the size of a common teddy bear. However, they are able to fly around simply with full control; they just can’t…control their fire-breathing so something usually ends up burning down every time one of them sneezes which is a pain to put something out before the smoke alarms go off and alert the fire department. But their ocean like blue scales and ruby colored eyes are so cute it’s worth it since I spoil those three to death.

However, despite my family being made of mythological creatures they try to do everything normal humans would just for my sake since I am just a normal human girl. Including having a Thanksgiving dinner.

Every time I wake up on Thanksgiving morning I let out a deep sigh and this morning wasn’t any different since I knew what chaos was about to come out of the day. I looked over at my alarm clock across from my bed, next to the television and in small blue and black number it read 8:24 AM and I heard a huge commotion downstairs as Eternia and Lavion started their furious cleaning raid.

Vacuums are trying to suck up all the fur Lavion leaves behind when he transforms and the dust mites stuck in the furniture and carpets, Eternia’s magic controls the dishes that rinse themselves and then fly into the dishwasher until it fills to capacity.

Eternia is running around as if her head was chopped off as she dusted the shelves so fast that the dust started to fill the room and made it look like smoke was floating around in the room. The dust soon reached my nose as I went downstairs which caused me to sneeze and that caught Eternia and Lavion’s attention.

Oh good morning dear. Lavion said walking over to me and placed a kiss on my forehead. Alright, we have a lot of work to do today so hurry up and eat breakfast so you can get started. Aunt Marion, Uncle Bobby and the kids are going to be here soon.

Soon? Oye it’s only 8:30 in the morning. It’s called Thanksgiving dinner not Thanksgiving luncheon. I moaned as I headed to the kitchen where the dishwasher was closing and I grabbed a bowl out of the cupboard, some cereal out of the pantry, and the milk out of the fridge before making a bowl of my favorite cereal.

After I finished breakfast I put the bowl and spoon in the sink only for them to jump right back out and into the dishwasher that closed, locked, and turned on.

Good, you’re done eating. Eternia replied. I want you to go clean up your room and make sure that everything is in order upstairs while I start the laundry.

Can I please take a shower first?

There’s no time, just take one before you go to bed. Lavion replied. Now go and hurry up. He said and I mumbled the whole time about mythological creatures and their weird habits and so on and so forth.

I got dressed and snuck in a quick sponge bath before I headed into my room and started cleaning it and putting the things I didn’t want burned in a safe place and far away so the triplets couldn’t find them.

A few hours later the dreaded knock came. The knock that signified my family was finally here so I ran downstairs to greet my family at the door.

Lavion opened the door and when he did a whole bunch of smoke filled the room and so did little puffs of fire which made me cough since I was still unable to handle the thick heavy smoke Aunt Marion produced when she made her grand entrance which to me, isn’t all that grand.

Well Marion, it’s seems like you’re not one to miss out on using your magic. Lavion said happily.

Of course not dear brother. If I didn’t use my magic I wouldn’t be a witch now would I?

No, but you’d be a normal person who loves to cosplay. I mumbled.

Elle, there’s my wonderful niece! How have you been? Horrible I hope. Aunt Marion replied.

    Really Aunt Marion? Horrible?

Oh you know I’m just messing with you. So really, how have you been?

Alright. Where’s Uncle Bobby and the triplets?

He’s on his way. He’s bringing them in the car since he refused to let them fly.

Oh I can just see the headlines. People thinking they’re insane because they saw a car driving without a driver and three dragons in the backseat. I replied before heading over to the couch and plopped down onto it.

Don’t be that way Ella. Lavion replied.

Chill bro, it’s probably a human thing. After all, everyone except for her believes that we don’t exist. Even if she’s known us since she was three.

You make it seem like I’m the weird one here. I huffed.

As the front door opened a pure white light along with three tiny dragons entered the house. Nika, Nana, and Rena looked around anxiously and when they found me sitting on the couch in the living room the three of them flew over and attacked me before rubbing their faces against my arms and chest which was their way of saying hello since they couldn’t actually talk.

Hello to you three too. I laughed as their scales rubbed against my skin or clothes and tickled me.

I see the kids missed you Ella, they didn’t even come and see us. Eternia said which perked the interest of the young dragons who abandoned me as if I was last month’s phone model and flew over to Eternia replied and she was responded with three tiny chirps.

What can I say Eternia, the kids love her for some reason. Uncle Bobby laughed and he floated over to me and gave me a quick hug which for a ball of light was just hovering around me and surrounding me in his light and warmth. How’s school been kiddo?

Alright, completely normal. I laughed as the warmth disappeared.

The food is almost done, so let’s head to the kitchen and get plates and everything else all set. Lavion replied and we all headed into the kitchen with Lavion leading the way and Rena perched herself on his shoulder, Nika perched herself on Eternia’s head and Rena was sitting on Aunt Marion’s shoulder.

The table was extended thanks to Eternia’s magic and there was a smaller table off to the side where the dragons sat which was close to the ground in case they started to walk around and fell off the table.

A few minutes later Lavion pulled a giant turkey out of the oven and set it on the table. The turkey was very large, enough to feed two families with a total of fourteen people. However, Lavion and Aunt Marion had very large appetites and so did the kids who could also pack away when they came over. Soon, potatoes, stuffing, turkey, corn, and cranberry sauce surrounded the table.

We also have pumpkin and apple pie in the fridge for afterwards. Eternia said with a smile on her face. Well, help yourselves everyone.

Uncle Bobby cut the turkey, which always confused me to no end, into small pieces for the kids and also poured a little gravy when it was brought to the table few seconds later. When they were ready Aunt Marion asked me to bring the plates over to the little dragons who were anxiously awaiting their food with little yips and growls.

The kids seem like they’re hungry tonight. Uncle Bobby replied.

Gee, what was your first clue? I mumbled as I filled my plate of turkey and cranberry sauce.

Let’s just enjoy this meal together Ella. Eternia replied sitting down at the table.

Whatever. I said knowing something bad would happen, and what did I know, something bad happened.

After dinner was over the three now small, fat, dragons were all collapsed over the small table they ate at. Their eyes were wide as if they were high and their tails were wagging in happiness.

That’s when things went bad. Very bad.

Nana opened her eyes long enough to look around before she burped and when she burps, she breaths fire, which caught the table they were laying on, on fire. The fire scared the three little dragons which caused them to breathe more fire in fear and the fire spread throughout the rest of the room. Turkey turned into charcoal within minutes and soon the entire kitchen was a giant fireball.

Eternia quickly grabbed me and she summoned a wind spell (which still boggles me to this day) in order to put the flames out but they just spread even quicker that way. In case you still haven’t figured it out, let me word it another way. Flames plus wind equals WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU THINKING?!

Everyone out! Lavion shouted just as another fireball from Rena caught him in the butt causing his tail and pants to go up in flames.

He yelped as he started running around in a circle as he tried to put his tail out but we managed to pull Lavion out of the
