Chapter One

The word ‘supernatural’ means anything that isn’t real. For example: vampires, werewolves, ghouls, mermaids, etc. But what if everything we thought to be true about the word supernatural was false? What if the term 'supernatural' was false? Would you believe it? Most of the population if they had the right mind would say no when asked this question in public, but since you’re reading this and you’re in the safety of your own mind what is your answer?

This is what goes through the minds of Luna and Leona Dark, two sisters who do everything together and share a passion for anything supernatural, especially vampires and werewolves.

Their love for all things supernatural shows in their appearance. Luna is a sixteen year old girl who is strong emotionally and mentally but very frail physically. She has short brown hair which she added a darker colored crimson streaks to it. She wears black eye liner and mascara and a light red eye shadow to complement her green colored eyes. She always wears black clothes with the exception being dark blues, reds, and the occasional green. She always wears a pair of silver skull earrings with amethyst gems for eyes and a Wiccan choker that has a pentagram and black beads connecting to the chain and the clasp that held the chocker together and a silver ring with a moonstone set in the middle surrounded by a circle.

Leona is the older sister, she’s seventeen and taught everything she knows about the supernatural to Luna who is always eager to absorb new theories and come up with new ideas as they work on their novel collaborations. Leona looks very similar to Luna but she is stronger and fitter than Luna is in all categories. Leona has dark brown hair with blonde highlights and unlike Luna wears very light, warm colored make up and likes all colors especially purples and baby blue. She wears clear lip-gloss and uses either light browns or yellows in order to complement her green eyes. She had fangs made for her sixteenth birthday that she puts on every morning but they weren’t sharp enough to hurt anyone, since they were made specifically for show and to intimidate. Leona is very protective of anyone she’s friends with and the moment it seems like one of her friends are in trouble she’ll automatically jump in and defend them. Even more so with those she considers family.

Neither one of the girls were fond of high school, finding their little school district boring, lame, and most importantly retarded due to the faculty. The two sisters hated most of their teachers with a very few of the faculty of thirty being exceptions. So, they never really rushed to get ready for school seeing no reason to get there before first period since they couldn’t see their friends until lunch time and their first class wasn’t that important.

Or so they thought.

The two, despite being a year apart, were both in their junior year of high school. They shared all of the same classes so they were able to pass all their classes as they copied each other’s homework when they didn’t feel like doing assignments and they always tuned out the teachers by writing or drawing in notebooks or sketchbooks, only chiming in when asked and there were only two teachers the two never tuned out. Their Chorus teacher Mr. Nakamura and their gym coach. The only two teachers out of the eight they had they actually had respected.

However there were the brief occasions when the two would actually pay attention to their lessons and one of those rare occasions was during their World History class. The teacher had been talking about local urban legends for several days and one of them caught the attention of the supernatural loving sisters.

I know that this may seem like a weird question but who here believes that the supernatural exists somewhere in this universe or on this planet? The teacher asked and no one raised their hands although Luna and Leona did believe they existed. I didn’t think so, however since we’ve been on the topic of urban legends around the globe I usually bring up this urban legend since it originates here in our little village. Does anyone know where Ying-Yang mansion is?

Yeah it’s over the bridge heading out of town to the west. One of the students said. It’s said that the owners of the land left a real tiger behind when they moved and is being taken care of by a zoo keeper from the game farm outside of the village.

That’s what the records say, however it’s said that there isn’t a real tiger there at that mansion. The teacher said and he turned around and wrote something on the board in Japanese katakana characters. Can anyone read Japanese and tell me what this says?

Assuming you wrote it wrong it should read Supernatural High. The last character is off a little. Luna spoke not looking up at the board and she chewed on the end of her pen as she tried to figure out where to go next with her story.

I didn’t know you could read katakana Luna. The teacher said impressed.

I’m not just sitting around on my ass at home despite popular belief. Luna sighed.

Right, well, as Luna said the katakana I wrote on the board appears on the gate that leads into the mansion and reads Supernatural High. The mansion has been part of this town way before the town’s founding in 1823. In fact, historians believe that the mansion itself has been around since the 1600’s with minor renovations taking place throughout the years. The mansion was abandoned when the town was founded however there have been reports saying that someone does live there. Someone who only appears at night and that’s when the renovations, when they were needed, would take place however no one ever hears the construction one would assume would be needed in order to complete these renovations.

Excuse me, but what does this have to do with anything? Leona asked trying to get the teacher to get to the point before she lost her interest.

Well, back in the early 1900’s a group of girls who attended this very school decided to walk up to the mansion and break in. Unfortunitly they never made it out, the only clue that proved the girls were even there that day were the clothes that were found outside the gate. The clothes were proven to be worn by the girls that day by the classmates and blood was covering the clothes and holes were ripped in the back of the shirts where wings would possibly go. Ever since it’s been said anyone who approaches that mansion disappears and the only traces are the clothes on their backs covered in blood. Only one person has managed to escape and she said that they were attacked by a vampire with long black hair and golden colored eyes. He supposedly spoke with an old English accent and was very polite until he sunk his fangs into her neck. Supposedly there were other members of the house, including those who have been lost to the mansion prior to her going there. However, no one, not even the authorities, were brave enough to explore it themselves. The teacher said sitting down on her desk.

It sounds stupid to me. It’s way too vague to be an urban legend. It just sounds like some lame ghost story that would be told at an elementary school camp fire. A student behind Luna said.

Well of course I personally don’t believe in this myth for I have driven passed the mansion myself hundreds of time. But I thought that such a tale would befit our lesson.

So what is the ‘tiger’ at the school?

The girl who managed to escape said that it’s some sort of werewolf.

Yeah right, after all a tiger escaped from there two years ago. No one had gotten hurt and no one saw a werewolf it was definitely a tiger. Another student said.

Yeah, this legend is now busted. A female student added crossing her arms. I think I’d rather learn about some other more logical legend our book provides for once. She added and the entire class agreed and the teacher moved on with the lesson, loosing Luna and Leona in the process.

Three days later Leona and Luna entered the cafeteria for lunch after spending a good half hour in the library. They sat at their group table where Nitara and Mike sat eating their lunches.

Nitara’s the self-acclaimed leader of the group. She’s a junior who is seventeen years old, and the self-proclaimed captain of the group while she was well respected and extremely comical, she would murder in a blink of an eye if someone hurt anyone in the group. She was also Leona’s wifey since almost everyone followed that trend now and days and she was also pretty much the mother of the group. Nitara always wore black or red corsets and black pants with high hooker boots with thick heals or converse. Her eyes were blue and she had long blonde hair that she almost always had in a ponytail since she hated having it hanging in her face but unlike the other girls she hated wearing makeup unless she had to for her modeling career.

Mike was a senior and eighteen but he was still a typical jock on the outside but inside he’s just a teddy bear. He is extremely tall and muscular since he is always working out whenever he got the chance and is extremely good at sports. He has short brown hair which was sometimes crew-cutted and he has brown eyes. He’s the big brother of the group and extremely comical and will do anything in his power, even if it embarrasses him to make someone laugh and will do anything for his family to make sure that they are going down the right path.

And just where have you two been? Nitara asked shaking her finger in a disciplinary manner.

In the library looking up something. Leona said.

Like what?

Did the history teacher mention the ‘legend’ of Ying-Yang Mansion, or Supernatural High the other day?

Oh yeah, I remember that. Mike said.

Yeah she mentioned it why?

Well, Luna and I have been working on our story for a while but the two of us have hit a bit of writers’ block so we decided to see if we can get some information on the place and see if we can incorporate that into the story somehow.

So did you find out anything? Mike asked.

Yeah, I’m extremely curious to find out if these legends are true. Luna said.

You’re kidding me. You want to go to that place? Nitara asked shocked. Are you looking for an easy way to die?

No of course not. I don’t believe in that whole idea of people going there and never coming back. That seems a little too farfetched to me. After all, the mansion is said to be there since 1600 and documentation was seriously crap back then. After all, the Richter scale doesn’t even start until the 1800’s. It just sounds like someone took a bunch of serial murders and turned it into one big fiasco that I’m surprised doesn’t have its own major block buster series like Friday the 13th or The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Luna said.

We’re just going to scout the place. You heard the teacher, he drives by there all the time and nothing’s happened to her. Except maybe explaining to us why he’s so insane. Leona added.

Yeah, all we’re going to do at the most get is an actual look at the design. I guess due to this legend no one has approached the house since the last attack. There’s not a single image of the place in any book or online. Although apparently the mansion itself is a historical landmark to the town just like that old bridge over the creek that connects the east side and west side of town. Luna said.

Maybe Dracula lives there. Mike teased in a hearty way.

That would be amazing! Luna smiled. If this place is a true academy I’d bet that Dracula teaches vampirism 101.

Vampirism 101? Nitara asked. Great, now Luna’s starting to lose her mind.

Hey! Luna said gently slapping Nitara’s arm.

So when are we going to go? Mike asked.

Wait, we? Why is there a ‘we’? Luna and Leona asked.

The question is why not? I love adventures you girls know that. I’m not scared of supernatural beings. They can kiss my white ass! Mike said and Leona laughed.

If there’s a vampire he’ll probably bite your white ass. She teased.

I’ll bring a cross or garlic or whatever works on vampires. Mike added.

I think we’ll need to bring a body bag. Luna sighed. Are you coming too Nitara?

Why not? I got to make sure that you two don’t do anything stupid. And I have to make sure that you don’t leave Mike to die at the hands of a vampire or a werewolf.

They wouldn’t do that would you girls? Mike asked while Luna and Leona buried their faces behind the books they had with them. Oh gee thanks! I love you two too!  

So when are we going to go on this little adventure of ours?

How about we go Friday night? We’ll just pretend we’re going to the late showing of some movie at the theater and head on up there? Luna suggested.

Alright then, I guess it’s a date. Friday night we’ll go up to the Ying-Yang mansion and find out if Supernatural High is real and if these two can get out of their writing slump. Mike replied excitedly just as the bell rang. Damn, lunch is always too good to last. Time to get back to the books.

You can always do what Luna and I do and ignore them and wing everything. Leona said.

No thanks, I actually want to earn my education.

We’re earning it. We do our homework. We just don’t pay attention to the teachers. Leona added as they grabbed their backpacks and walked on to their next class excited about the adventure they were sure to have at the Ying-Yang Mansion that weekend.

Chapter Two

After enduring a long week of ridiculous classes and planning for Friday night’s big adventure, Mike, Luna, Leona, and Nitara were hanging out at Leona and Luna's place watching television and finalizing their plans.

Nitara and Luna were sitting on the couch while Mike and Leona sat on the floor while they watched some horror movies. As Leona started to get bored Luna looked over at her sister.

Have you talked to Mom yet about the whole ‘movie premier’ thing? She asked.

We don’t have to, she's leaving town for the weekend so it'll just be me and you. So we don’t have to come up with a reason why we’re leaving the house. Leona smirked.

Talk about good ass timing for a trip to visit her boyfriend. Mike stated.

It’s as if you’re meant to go on this little adventure of ours. Nitara said with a smirk.

So Friday is all set up for you then? Leona asked and Nitara smirked

Hell yeah. I told my fokes that I was spending the weekend here with you guys and we might go to a premier that we were told about.

Nice. What did you tell your mom, Mike? Luna asked and Mike smiled.

I took care of it. I told her that I was spending the weekend here with you guys and that we might go to a movie. He said and Luna looked at Leona

Well I guess we are all set then for Friday night then.

As they started watching the third horror movie Mike looked at Leona.

Where is your mom now? He asked which made Leona look at Mike.

She's working late tonight and then she has off tomorrow through Monday for her trip. She should be home at eleven.

Oh, she sure works a lot. Do you guys ever get to spend any time with her? Mike asked seriously.

Yeah, but when we do it doesn’t end well. Mom and Leona always end up fighting because mom thinks that Leona won’t amount to anything. Luna answered.

She reminds me of our great grandfather. He judges us like we are meant to be perfect and amount way beyond what we have planned for ourselves. Leona replied.

Nitara shook her head.

Have you ever actually tried talking to her about it? If you actually sit down and talk to her she just might chill the hell out and be easier on you. My mom did after I sat down with her and told her what my plans were after High School. She asked and Leona shrugged.

I never actually thought about it but maybe I'll do that one of these days.

While the girls were talking Mike got up and went to the kitchen to get some snacks. When he grabbed some chips he figured that it was getting way to serious in the living room so when he came back into the living room he had whipped cream on his face so that it looked like a mustache and a beard causing everyone to laugh at him,

What the hell are you doing? Leona asked once she could stop laughing.

It was getting too serious in here so I wanted to make everyone laugh. Mike said as he put the snacks on the table

Well it worked. Luna said as she continued to laugh.

You look like Santa Clause. Nitara said.

So, Santa what did you bring us? Leona laughed as Mike wiped the whipped cream off his face.

They all laughed at Mike before they went back to having fun. As it hit 10:30 Nitara and Mike said good-night to the girls and then left to go home before their mother got home and caused trouble for the girls. Leona and Luna picked up the mess they all made and then went up to their rooms. When Leona got into her room she laid on her bad and watched her favorite movie while she added a few things to the story that she's writing. Luna was in her room laying on her bed typing on her laptop seeing if she can come up with any ideas for her story and that is when she came across site that was used for bloggers that believed in the supernatural.

One of the posts she came across was talking about the very mansion that they were going to explore on Friday day so Luna read the posts and comments to see what she could find. As she read the posts she noticed that the one person that wrote a lot about the mansion was a girl that used the user name mansiongirl1600. The user name intrigued Luna because the girl didn’t use her name but she used the year that everyone believes the mansion was founded and this mysterious girl knew a lot about the mansion. She wanted to find out who this girl was but when she went to the girls profile there was nothing. There wasn’t a picture, no description, nothing that would give any idea as to who this girl is or possibly was.

At this point Luna was extremely curious and knew something was going on, she could just tell. Luna thought about it for a few minutes and then decided to join and blog about what was going on the following night to see if this mysterious blogger girl would comment or blog next. After she blogged it she waited and waited and waited but no comment, no nothing so she turned off her              computer and went to sleep. 

Finally Friday morning came and Luna and Leona got dressed for school. Luna got dressed into a pair of black jeans and tank top with a rose on them. Leona got dressed in a pair of camo cargo pants and a camo tank top. They did their make-up and got everything together for school. When they were all done they headed out the door and jumped into Leona's car. As they headed to school Luna told Leona what she discovered and it interested her.

That is rather odd. Maybe the girl is actually a student there and she uses that blog to lure people into the mansion that way, by making them curious. Leona stated with a smirk.

I can tell there is something very strange about that girl and that there is something going on with that mansion. Luna said seriously.

I know there’s something more than what anyone else is saying but the only way to know is to wait and find out tonight. I just hope we don’t end up putting Nitara and Mike in danger. Leona told her seriously.

When they got to school they parked into their usual parking spot. As Leona got out of the car she was bum rushed by Mike.

Hey, Mike. Excited about tonight? Leona asked grabbing her bag out of the car. Luna got out of the car and grabbed her bag.

I can’t wait until tonight, even Nitara is excited. This is going to be our greatest adventure yet. Mike replied.

So where is Nitara? Leona asked with a smile.

Here I am. Nitara called running up the drive way of the school.

Nitara, where is your car? Luna asked.

My car broke down this morning, it won’t even start. Nitara told them.

After school I'll come over and see what’s wrong with it. Leona told her with a smile.

Yeah, we'll fix your car for ya. Mike said.

Thanks guys. Nitara replied.

Then they heard the bell ring and so they went to class. As the day went by Luna became even more curious about the mysterious girl who blogged about the legendary mansion. It made her wonder what exactly they just might find on their adventure that night.

When lunch finally came around everyone met at their usual table and Leona looked at Nitara.

After school is over I'll drive you over to your house so Mike and I can fix your car. Then after we fix your car we'll head over to my place so that we can get everything ready for tonight.

Sounds good to me I just want my car to work. I don’t get it, it was working yesterday but then it wouldn’t start this morning. Nitara told them.

That’s just strange. Well, my sister and Mike will figure it out for you. Luna told her with a smile.

I hope so I love my car. I don’t feel like walking all over the place again. Nitara stated.

As they ate Luna took out her laptop to check out the blog and sure enough there was a comment on her blog from the mysterious girl saying "Beware! You just might find more than what you are bargaining for.’

This made Luna even more curious than what she was before and now she couldn’t wait for tonight. Her and her sister has always been interested in the supernatural and it would be fantastic if they could actually meet a vampire or a werewolf. Just to see if they are anything like they are described in the books or in movies.

After school Leona and Luna drove Nitara to her house so that Leona and Mike could look at her car. As Leona pulled into Nitara's drive way Mike pulled in right behind her. They all got out and walked over to the car. While Leona and Mike looked at the Nitara's car Nitara and Luna hung out in the house. They popped the hood and looked at everything and checked everything. They ended up finding out someone unhooked the battery and also pulled the spark plug wires out. So they put the wire back on the battery and then replaced the sparkplug and the wires.

After they were done Mike jumped the car to make sure the car would start and it did. So, Mike and Leona went in and told Luna and Nitara that everything was all fixed. After a few minutes went by they left and went to Leona's and Luna's house. When they got there Mike and Nitara brought in their stuff for the weekend. Then they hurried up and got everything ready for tonight like flashlights, candles, matches, and the ever popular peanut butter cups.

Hey we should grab a camera too besides the flash lights. Mike suggested.

Yeah, we could I guess. Luna replied and she ran upstairs to grab her video camera.

As it hit 11 o'clock they headed out to the mansion. As they made it to the bridge they started to feel excitement and a touch of fear. They crossed the bridge and made their way down the road to the mansion. When they made it to the front of the mansion, they parked the car and stood in front of the very mansion that was and very well could still be Supernatural High.

They did not know what was beyond those gates and what just might be dwelling with in it.

Chapter Three

The moon was full, giving the area the perfect amount of lighting so the group could see what they were doing. They approached the giant metal gate of the mansion and over the metal doors was the sign Luna had translated in History class. The sign wasn’t rusted in the slightest. In fact, it was pretty much brand new as if it was recently replaced, and there wasn’t a bit of rust on the poles of the gate either.

This place is oddly creepy. There isn’t a bit of rust on these gates. Nitara replied touching the metal poles carefully.

Yeah, the sign isn’t even rusted. It looks brand new, maybe a few months old if that. Even the characters are recently sketched. Mike said and the girls stared at him. What, so I sketch things into metal sometimes, what's the big deal?

Okay then. Leona replied as Luna turned on the camera and took a picture of the gate. Hey, get a picture of the mansion it looks like one of those mansions you’d see in Dracula or something.

It does doesn’t it. Nitara agreed as Luna snapped a picture of the building.

The mansion was very tall and large. It was made out of an old kind of wood that gave the mansion the 1600’s hundreds feel. However the wood was modernized for the style and the wood itself was painted black. It stood at two floors but it appeared to be larger and taller due to the large bell tower at the very top.

What the hell is that? Luna asked curiously looking at the picture. That’s impossible. Luna added shocked.

What is? Leona asked.

There’s someone in the picture staring and waving at me.

Say what? Leona asked and she looked over Luna’s shoulder at the image on the camera. Holy shit! Someone is there!

I wonder if it’s one of the girls who were murdered here by that supposed vampire. Mike said.

Wouldn’t they be a vampire then? Nitara asked.

I don’t know the vampire mechanics I thought that was Luna and Leona’s department.

Hey, we never thought they were real. Leona said.

Yeah we did we just don‘t like to admit it to the public. However we knew ghosts existed since we’ve had them at our house hundreds of times.

Then why are you so surprised that there’s someone in the image. Nitara asked.

Because ghosts don’t usually show up in full human form like this. They’re complete white smoke like figures. Here check it out yourself. Luna said handing Nitara the camera.

The figure in the camera was male and he was extremely handsome. He had jet black hair and had an extremely pale complexion, sharp features, and what appeared to be green eyes. He wore black clothes and seemed to be from their age. He had a smile on his face that was extremely beautiful but not obnoxiously so like in modern day teenage romance books and movies. It was just a normal smile that seemed to fit him perfectly.

I wonder who he is. Nitara asked. Obviously it’s not that mysterious girl who commented on Luna’s post last night.

He wasn’t there when I took the shot so I don’t know. And the person who commented was a girl so that‘s definitely not her. I wonder if we‘ll run into her tonight or something. Luna added and the lock fell off the gate making the kids shriek and the doors opened slowly with a long sharp creek.

Alright, insert creepy horror movie music here. Mike said and the girls glared at him. What?

So should we head inside? We could probably get more pictures of the inside of the mansion now.

Do you want to die? Nitara asked. What if we run into something other than a ghost? If ghosts exist here who’s to say everything else isn’t true.

Scared Ni? Luna asked with a smirk as she walked through the now open gate.

Hey get your ass back here and wait for me. Leona shouted as she followed Luna inside who turned on the video part of her camera and held it up to her face.

Alright, Luna here with Leona, Nitara, and Mike. We are actually inside Ying-Yang mansion known to some as Supernatural High. Well, we’re inside the courtyard/front yard after the gates opened mysteriously. She said excitedly.

Luna, what on earth are you doing? Mike asked.

Dude; memories! Besides, if we don’t make it out, we have video evidence of what’s going on here.

Well then, HI MOM! Mike shouted and waved at the camera.

You idiot! If someone finds this then we’ll be screwed. We’re supposed to be at the movie theater remember? No one knows we came here and our families would be pissed as hell if they found out. Leona growled.

Oh relax. If we make it back home, I’ll make sure it’s hidden so deep in my laptop that no one will find it. Luna replied and she turned off the camera for the time being. This place is really well kept. The gardener must be exhausted each day. It probably takes him forever to get this place in top shape. Luna added.

The grass was extremely short and luscious green. There was a flower bed surrounding a beautiful large fountain that was spouting out clear water that was almost invisible. Luckily the fountain wasn’t a fountain that had a naked little boy and the water was coming out of his private. It was just a basic fountain which Luna quickly snapped a picture of. The flowers in the flower bed were all kinds extending from rosebushes in the back and daffodils, gardenia’s, tulips, as well as other types of flowers the kids had never heard of that were extremely beautiful with their wide variety of colors which Leona had stolen the camera from Luna in order to take a picture of.

What, I like the flowers, can you blame me? Leona asked tossing the camera back to Luna.

Which way should we go? Out back, or inside? Nitara asked.

Should we go inside? That’s kind of breaking and entering. Mike added.

Like what we’re doing now isn’t?

Good point.

Come on, let’s check out the back. Just be careful and don’t wonder off on your own. Leona said.

The group walked behind the house and they were greeted with the sight of a large greenhouse, pool, and a giant bush maze that had beautiful white roses on them. Luna didn’t notice someone sitting in an inner tube as she took a picture and the flash was still on, scaring the person in the inner tube, making them flip over and fall into the pool.

Shit, run! Luna whispered and the kids ran and when they got back to the gates the gate was closed and padlocked once again.

Oh come on, what the fuck? Nitara moaned as she tried to open the gate.

We’re screwed beyond belief. Mike said.

Hey! You four! A voice called from behind them.

The kids gulped before turning around. They saw a girl who had long brown hair and a really pale complexion similar to the boy who showed up in the camera. Her eyes were crimson red and she was completely soaked from falling into the pool and her eyes were cold with malice and blazing with anger from getting unexpectedly wet. Her black and silver two piece swimsuit looked amazing on her and she wore a pair of yellow flip flops. What really surprised the group the most were the sharp, dangerous fangs that were easily seen from the girl who was gritting her teeth.

Shit vampires are real. That girl is a vampire! Mike freaked out.

Or she has fang extensions just like Leona does. Nitara replied calmly.

So I take it that you didn’t head my warning. The girl said.
