    Chapter 1

    Hangover

Aaaah, Lisa screamed as she looked at herself in the mirror. The mirror is the original instant photograph, one that asks us to value the passing moment. But for Lisa Kennedy it was a confusing nightmare. The girl looking back at her was the face she knew all her life, but for some reason; no one else seemed to recognize her. She began to sob. Sobbing is crying with full acceptance of the emotional pain, when it has entered the world as a tsunami. Lisa has never question her identity before like most people. She has lost her most valuable possession, her identity and in search of it, it will take her into the darkest corners of reality.

I can’t believe this. This cannot be happening, this cannot be happening. What’s wrong with me! I’m stuck in the worst nightmare ever, and it just won’t end, Lisa sobbed.

Lisa Kennedy opened her eyes to the dimly lit room, though it is daytime no-one has opened the thick drapes. With the movement of one leg the tell-tale clink of wine bottles makes it clear what she did before she drifted off to sleep.  She squinted, dry mouth sticky with thick saliva and moans before retreating back under the covers.

She drifted back to sleep and dreamt about her online girlfriend Susan Cassidy.

She dreamed that she and Susan were lying on the roof of her car looking at the stars.

As the two of them laid there on top of the still warm hood of the car, holding hands, fingers intertwined like first time lovers do, Lisa suddenly got a smile on her face as she wondered what it would be like to have her new found friend lean over and kiss her. She wondered what it would feel like to have her tongue touch hers. She laid there feeling the lust build up between her legs thinking of all the different situations that could come out of this night of relaxation. She imagined sliding her hand under her friends blouse and feeling her erect nipples, only to realize that she was braless. As she rubbed her nipples, first the right then the left then the right again… she could hear her friend whimper and squirm under the touch.

Her dream was suddenly interrupted by a ringing phone. She reached over to answer the call and the party on the other end had already hung up. She looked at the alarm clock and saw that she was late. She wondered why it didn’t go off. Lisa knew that she shouldn’t have drank last night.  She got out of the bed to get dressed and heard moaning sounds coming from her living room. She walked into the living room and saw pornography playing on her television and realized that she must have passed out while fingering herself.

I don’t even remember going to bed, Lisa thought. Lisa took a shower and after she stepped back into the bedroom and looked in the closet and drawers and didn’t recognize any of the clothes.

Where are my clothes and whose stuff is this? Lisa wondered. I don’t know who is playing games around here, where the fuck is my stuff? She continued to wonder. She found clothes to wear that fit her and hoped that whoever replaced her clothes with someone else’s would give her clothes back.

Once she got dressed, she logged on to her laptop. She wanted to tell her girlfriend good morning before she headed out to school.

She tried to log into Facebook and it was if she no longer had an account.

What the fuck, she blurted. Why is my account gone? she wondered.

She went to log into her email to see what was going on. After she logged on, she saw no notices at all about Facebook. She just didn’t get what happened to her account.

This is strange, there are no notices. There should be some history of Facebook messages, but there is none, Lisa thought.

Lisa got back on Facebook in an attempt of creating an account with her email. She was surprise that she was able to. When she did, she saw she had no friends, no pictures; it was as if this was the first time creating this account. She looked up her friend Susan and sent her a friend’s request and a message to explain that she had to recreate her account.

Lisa Kennedy: Hi, I lost all my stuff on this account. I had to recreate this. I’m about to head out for class. Kiss kiss.

    Susan Cassidy: Who is this?

Lisa Kennedy: It’s me Lisa; somehow all my friends on the list are gone.

Susan Cassidy: Lisa? Where do I know you from?

Lisa Kennedy: You’re being silly this morning. Well I have to go, I’ll message you later.

Lisa logged off of Facebook and realized her school books were not where she left them.

Damn, where are my books? Lisa wondered. She was running late and didn’t have time to search for her school books. She headed out the door toward Irvin University.

Today she had three classes, which was English, art and algebra. Lisa was studying to become a Quantum Physicist. Algebra was a required course to take; English and art were classes she took to meet the requirement for credits needed to have in college.

Lisa Kennedy has been interested into the science of different dimensions. According to New Quantum results, black holes do not culminate in a singularity, instead they are portals to other universes.

The first class that she had today was English.  Her teacher was a red head middle age lady named Dr. Robinson.  Lisa remembered that she was the first real life person that she sexually fantasized about. The day after she masturbated thinking about Dr. Robinson, she went to her class and sensed that the English teacher knew. Of course this wasn’t possible, so she thought she must have just imagined that she knew.

Lisa looked and saw someone sitting in the seat that she has always sat in. there are no assigned seats in college, but students sat in the same seats anyway, until now. Lisa was forced to sit elsewhere. Students began to whisper among them.

One girl came into the classroom and stood by her.

Excuse me, you’re in my seat, the woman pointed out.

Oh well seats aren’t assigned. Where I usually sit, the seat was taken by that guy, Lisa pointed out.

I don’t care, this is my seat, the woman sassed.

Gosh, really? If it means that much to you then damn, you can have it, Lisa said. She got up and moved to another seat.

Dr. Robinson walked into the room and sat down.  After she was situated she began to teach and noticed that Lisa didn’t have any books.

Miss, where are your books? asked Dr. Robinson.

I’m sorry, I miss placed them, Lisa apologized.

I have never seen you in this class before. Are you new? asked Dr. Robinson.

No, I’ve been in this class all semester, Lisa explained.

I don’t think so, I would remember your face, Dr. Robinson stated.

What are you talking about? I have been here, don’t you remember? Lisa protested. You all remember me don’t you?

The other students shook their head no as they mumbled incoherently.

I’m sorry, no one knows you here, leave my class please, Dr. Robinson insisted.

Lisa was confused, she had no idea what was going on.

This can’t be real; I must be having a nightmare. How can no one in this class know who I am? Lisa wondered. First my Facebook account was gone, and then Susan acts like she didn’t know who I was when I sent her a friend’s request. Then I cannot find my school books, and now my English teacher or any of the students in my class know who I am, she continued to think about her strange nightmarish experience.

Lisa had to find something to do in the next two hours until her next class. She didn’t have her school books to occupy her time in the study where she usually goes when there is an hour or more between classes. She decided to head to the library. On the way she saw her friend Maria Sullivan who was also a model. Lisa and Maria worked for two different agencies. Lisa was too short to work for the agency that is required at the agency Maria worked for which required you to be at least 5'8. She was a 5’8 stunning blonde with blue eyes with Scandinavian features. Lisa was only 5’3 dark hair, Mediterranean appearance with green eyes with measurements 32-25-34.

    Hi Maria, Lisa greeted.

    Hi, Maria responded.

How are you? I have been having a strange morning, Lisa stated.

Okay, do I know you? Maria asked.

    Not you too, Lisa responded.

    Not you what? Maria asked.

This joke, where you are all pretending that you don’t know me, exasperated Lisa as she sighed heavily.

I don’t understand what you are talking about. I don’t know you, and how did you know my name? questioned Maria.

So you in on this too, okay this isn’t funny. Okay I drank a little much last night. I get it, now the jokes over, Lisa huffed and walked away and went to the library even though she preferred to go to the computer lab. The computer lab wasn’t an option since she couldn’t find her student ID.

Lisa was reading about the possibility of the Quantum Realm that was mention in marvel’s Avengers. It turned out that it technically exists in real life. The article made it clear that it isn’t a place that you can travel through the space-time continuum. We are in the quantum realm now. The quantum realm is a place where the laws of quantum mechanics are valid. That means particles in one universe are replicated in another using quantum mechanics. This is connected to this idea of the multiverse.

This she was aware of, now the concept of a microverse is an interesting concept. This is the idea that on a quantum level that there are microscopic universes that exists inside the particles of an atom.

After this she decided to log into Facebook. She saw that Susan hasn’t responded since this morning. She decided to send her friend Joanie Freeman and Harper Elliott a friend’s request. Harper was also an employee at the same modeling agency as Lisa.

Joanie Freeman was a married woman. She was married to a preacher named Jerald, who was an older man with dark chocolate skin tone. She accepted her friend’s request. Lisa knew her for several years online. They met on an online virtual world called Second Life.

Joanie Freeman: Do I know you hon?

Lisa Kennedy: It’s me Lisa. You’re not part of this joke too, are you?

Joanie Freeman: What joke? I don’t know who you are and I’m going to sleep.

Lisa sat there speechless. She couldn’t believe what was going on. She knew that Joanie wouldn’t be part of this. Lisa was confused and frustrated. She looked at the time and realized it was time to go to her next class.

On her way to algebra class, Lisa ran into Kevin Hashimoto from her physics class. He was with two other of his friends, Gene Ryan and Sarah Jacoff. Hashimoto was a Japanese American student who was working on a thesis at the university on a gravitational wormhole to slow down time.

Gene Ryan and Sarah Jacoff are his lab-mates. Gene Ryan had an afro that was much bigger than today’s style in year 2021. It was more like the style in the 1970’s. Ryan wore black framed glasses on his mocha colored face that accentuated his nerdness. Sarah Jacoff was very thin and petite with medium skin tone, thick dark bushy eyebrows and short dark curly hair.

Hi Ken, hi Gene and Sarah, Lisa greeted.

The three looked at her strange.

How is the thesis going about slowing down time? Lisa asked.

How do you know about that and how do you know our names? asked Kevin.

Not you too. Okay, the jokes over. I’m starting to get pissed, Lisa whinged.

Lisa continued to walk pass them in a huff. She walked around the corner into her algebra class. This time no one was in her seat. She sat down. Shortly she was approached by the same girl she had a confrontation in English Literature class.

New girl, you’re in my seat again, she confronted.

No, I’m in the seat I sit in all the time, Lisa protested.

No bitch, now you just trying to fuck with me, the girl said as she grabbed her arm.

Bitch, take your hands off me, or there is going to be a problem, Lisa stood up for herself.

The girl smacked Lisa and she stood up and punched her back. The two started rumbling and the teacher came in and called security.

Both girls were escorted out of class to the dean’s office.

This girl has been trying to start a fight with me all morning, Lisa defended.

She sat in my seat in both classes, the other girl said.

This is college, not high school, there are no assigned seats, the dean made clear. Darci Sommers, you can go back to class and miss, there is no record of you at this school. Leave this school, or I will have you arrested, the dean warned.

I’m a student at this school. I have art after algebra. I have been a student at this college for several months, Lisa defended.

You are not in the system. Show me your student ID, the dean demanded.

Lisa reached in her purse for her identification. She had none.

I don’t know where my ID is. I lost all my stuff, Lisa explained.

No ID, I am going to tell you one more time, leave or I will call the police.

Lisa left the building. She doesn’t know what is going on. She wondered if she was still dreaming. Last night she was at a party at an off campus housing on Myers Drive, New Kensington, Pa. Then this morning she woke up home in bed, naked and doesn’t even remember how she got there. Since she climbed out of bed, it has been a living nightmare.

Lisa decided to head home. She had her job later on at Crush Club as a stripper. Home is a place of safety above all, a place of serenity in the
