    For my friends and family

    Chapter 1:The Blood Moon

A CHILLING PRESENCE LURKED in the air as a large black car with no headlights raced down Red Lion Road on route 63 in Pennsylvania. It was April 15, 2014, the night of the blood moon. The moon was the color of crimson upon the black arena called the night sky.

Shortly a woman was coming out of Starbucks; she stopped to organized herself as her keys migrated to the bottom of her purse. She plopped the stuff from her purse down on a table to try to get her act together. She felt like she was being watched, so she turned to see what pervert she assumed was watching. The smart aleck remark died in her mouth as she caught sight of him and made (inadvertent) eye contact.  He was a man in a black suit whose skin was pale, not overly so, it was the eyes and the aura, coming off of him that scared her. She became very scared as she felt the hair on her neck stand up, and she was shaking just from looking into his eyes.

Tee felt that deep sense of malevolence. She could not look at him straight in the eyes. She felt like she was about to die. The eyes were completely black like there were no real pupils.

Miss, I would like to speak to you, said the man who spoke in an English accent.

I have to go, said Tee. She tried to get away from him, for he exuded an atmosphere of menace, and she felt like she was in extreme danger. Tee got in her car and drove as fast as she could.

As Tee drove down Walnut Street, all the lights were out and this is in Philadelphia, she made a turn and lo and behold, the man with the black eyes was walking just ahead of her car. She sped home, probably breaking five traffic laws.

How could he have left the building and be ahead of me when he had no car, Tee thought.

Tee pulled in her driveway and parked the car. She got out the car as fast as she could and ran toward her door. The man was standing in front of her door. She was horrified as she saw more than his eyes that was blacker than black. She felt a darkness around him, an evil. As she looked in his eyes, she somehow KNEW that was not a human soul occupying that body, and she felt that he knew that she knew that he was not human.

Just then razor sharp incisors appeared in his mouth and she knew she was going to die.

    Chapter 2:March 20, 1995

MEIKA WAS HORRIFIED WHEN she saw her boyfriend Haru gasp for air as he fell to the floor as blood tricked from his nose and saw blood pouring from his mouth. When she looked around she witnessed multitudes of people in agonizing pain as they fell to the floor of the subway that is in Tokyo, Japan as they bled from their orifices.

It was not long ago when Iwamoto Meika was sitting in her seat reading the Japanese edition of How to Win Friends and Influence People. She was on her way to work as a business intern. She was looking forward to seeing a friend named Kuramoto Haru. She met Haru at work and they went out bowling once. Meika was looking forward to seeing Haru this morning and hoping to spend quality time with him later after work.

The next stop on the subway Haru entered the train.

Hi, Haru, I’m over here, said Meika. The subway train was crowded. Haru had to stand because the seat next to Meika was taken.

Meika sat quietly and knows that it will not be too long before they arrive at their jobsite. That was when Meika witness the nightmare before her. Death in the air and she knew she was going to die as she gasped for air.

She felt that she was dying from asphyxiation.

When Meika came to, she realized that she was no longer on the subway.

Where am I? What’s wrong with my eyes? I can hardly see, said Meika.

You’re in the hospital and the vision problems are only temporally. You are lucky to be alive, said the nurse.

Nurse, I’m looking for a friend. He was on the subway with me, said Meika.

Twelve people died on the subway. What was his name? asked Meika.

    Kuramoto Haru, said Meika.

I’ll check for you. Fifty people have been injured, he may be among those, another 1000 are here for vision problems, said the nurse.

Meika lied there in bed hoping that he isn’t anyone of the twelve. She cannot get the horrible sight from her mind as she saw many people collapsed as blood poured from their noses and mouths.

Later the nurse comes back with bad news.

I am sorry Miss Iwamoto; your friend Kuramoto Haru just died.

    Chapter3:The Kunoichi

IT WAS APRIL 4th, 2015; the blood moon sat upon the black sky above. Asato Ren was getting ready for bed. It has been a full day for he is the owner of B.A.R. Labs which stand for Biorobotics Advance Research Labs.

This project that I am working on will do wonders, Asato thinks. He turned off his computer and got up and entered into the bathroom to take a shower. As he cleaned himself he thought of his girlfriend Svetlana who was from Russia. He got out the shower and dried off and brushed his teeth.

Asato put on his robe and entered into his bedroom that is traditional Japanese style. His bedroom has beige floors and while walls with pictures. He has a futon, byobu (Japanese folding screens), kendo mask, Shinai (bamboo sword).

Asato lied on his futon which lies right under a skylight. The phone rang and that was when Asato realized that he forgot to remove his Cicret bracelet which can project ones smartphone display onto one’s forearm. The arm became an interactive display that was touch sensitive. Asato looked at his forearm and saw that it was his girlfriend calling.

How are you doing lyubov moya? said Svetlana.

I’m fine and just climbed in bed. I had a wonderful time tonight and will be looking forward to see you tomorrow, said Asato.

Okay, I’ll see you then, said Svetlana.

Oyasumi, said Asato which is good night in Japanese.

After Asato got off his phone display on his arm with Svetlana Andronikov he removed his bracelet and sat it down on an end table. Asato soon drift off to sleep.

An hour later a shadowy figure climbed the side of the outside walls with great stealth. The figure moved like a demon in the night with great stealth and speed. Soon the figure was on the roof.

A string dropped down into the skylight and lowered right above Asato’s head. The string moved right above Asato’s mouth as he slept lying on his back. The shadowy figure made sure the string was held steady as the poison called wolfsbane dripped down the string and a drop made it into Asato’s mouth.

The shadowy figure succeeded in her mission. She did a summersault off the roof and landed quietly on her feet. Before that night was through Asato Ren will be dead.

Chapter 4: The Diary of Jodi Abella

I WAS NOW LIVING IN Tokyo, Japan. A month ago I was dead. I just moved into an apartment under the alias Sakura Araki. I know Tony meant well and he didn’t know that by sparing Eckart’s life, he would turn around and take mine.

    March 7, 2015

I was at the hotel in Springdale when I realized that I forgot my phone charger over Tony’s apartment. After writing him a note I went back to his apartment in Tarentum to get my charger.

I had a spare key and used it. When I walked inside I stepped into the bedroom and Dietrich Eckart was sitting there waiting.

Oh my gosh, it’s you, I said.

So we finally meet in person. I heard so much about you, said Dietrich.

I then decided to forget about my cell phone cord and I just wanted to get away from him. I tried to make a run for it and before I could get out the door, Dietrich grabbed me by my neck and gutted me with his talons. He took me back into the bedroom and tossed me on the bed. I immediately went unconscious unaware of the events that followed.

Suddenly I found myself stirring to awaken up on a table disoriented not understanding what was going on. I looked up and saw my vampire mother Lilith standing above me.

What is going on, where am I? I asked.

You are at a morgue, said Lilith.

    A morgue? I asked.

You was dead, my blood brought you back to life my child, said Lily.

A mortician entered the room. I have never seen this man before.

Jodi, this is a friend named Steve Eastwood. He is one of us and he will pretend to take you to a cemetery so that the mortals do not know that you came back, said Lilith.

Okay, right now I want a fresh start; I don’t want everyone to know I’m alive. I don’t want Tony to know, I said.

    Why not, asked Lilith.

I just can’t face him right now, I have my reasons, I said.

Okay, I respect your wishes. Where do you wish to restart your life? You know that if you are going to do this, it wouldn’t be wise to stay around here, said Lilith.

I decided to move to Tokyo, Japan. Toru Yamamoto who was Kyle’s father let me stay in his home until I got my own apartment. I miss Kyle very much. I didn’t know why Lilith couldn’t bring him back like she did with me.  Lilith explained she couldn’t because he was dead too long. Her blood can only bring a vampire back to life that died within a certain time frame.

Jodi, why are there dishes in the sink? asked Toru.

    I’ll wash them, I said.

I said, I do not want dishes in the sink, wash them as you use them, said Toru.

Okay, I said. homie needs to chill, he can be difficult sometimes.

    Right now, demanded Toru.

I did as he said and washed the dishes. Toru has been teaching me martial art such as Taijutsu.

Taijutsu is a martial art that uses body movements that are described as an empty-hand combat skill.

Toru works for Japan Institute of International Affairs. He is a vampire and became my mentor since I moved here. He is tougher on me than Alexandria was.  I miss her too. I hope she can soon fly here to Japan to see me.

Within two months I finally got my own apartment and I have a job at a photo studio.

    May 5, 2015,

Today was one of my favorite holidays. I am half Mexican and back home in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, USA I would celebrate Cinco de Mayo with my family.

There was a Cinco de Mayo festival in Osaka, Japan. I caught the train which will take about two hours to get there.

I was also looking forward to see the Shinto Sumiyoshi-taisha Shrine which is the oldest shrine in Japan. Shintoism is a nature based religion that is similar to Chinese Taoism and Native American religions. Shinto means Way of the Kami (gods). The indigenous Japanese believes that Spirit is in everything, the trees, rocks, people, the river, etc. many today believe that everything is alive with spirit. It is the largest religion in Japan.

The Japanese language doesn’t distinguish between plural and singular therefore kami refers to the sacred essence that is within all things. Shintoism is about sincerity, honesty and purity.

Toru have been teaching me Zen meditation. I learned a meditation technique called shikantaza which brings one completely in the now.

As I sat on the train I decided to meditate. I became aware of all my body sensations. I was able to hear all the sounds around me, the many conversations in Japanese. I felt the Ki energy flowing through me. I felt my whole body was breathing. As I experience my third eye awakening, I then become aware that the real me is that which sees through the eyes of every one of us.

I finally made it to Osaka to the festival. I heard music playing already. I went to the wristband booth and purchased a wrist band for 500 yen that way I can purchase food, drinks and other free products.

I walk around and blend into the crowd. There was a mixture of ethnics that I saw here, mostly Latino and Japanese. There was a guy with a microphone talking to people, he was wearing a green curly wig and a jigsaw masks from that movie series Saw. I have no idea what that supposed to have meant.

There were people on stage dancing. I went to order me some tacos and a drink. Many people seemed drunk from the coronas, margaritas and other drinks that were available.

One of the guys with a microphone approached me and asked me a question.

How do you like Osaka Castle Park? asked jigsaw.

It’s very nice, I like it, I said.

The guys went to the next person and decided to put down the microphone and replace it with a sausage on a stick.

When they stuck sausages in one person’s face, he backed up.

Yo, I don’t like sausages in my face dude, he said. The interviewer started shaking one of the sausages in his face. The next person who they put a sausage in their face like it was a microphone, bit into the sausage and ate the whole thing.

A band appeared on the stage playing banjos and singing. There were many performers and dancers that came on the stage the whole time I was there. This one band called Los Rizlaz was very good. They wore Lucha Libre Wrestling Masks while playing musical instruments, and they were very good. The song La Bamba was playing when the guy who ate the sausage came up to me.

Hello, how are you enjoying yourself, asked the gentleman.

I’m fine thank you, I said.

Nice meeting you, my name is Hikaru. Go Hikaru.

Nice to meet you too Hikaru, I said.

    You American? asked Hikaru.

Yes, oh and by the way my name is Sakura, I said.

Nice to meet you Sakura, perhaps I’ll see you again sometime, said Hikaru.

Hikaru walked away. I saw that he was attractive; I was just not ready to be involved with anyone. My focus was on my art and when I turn 18 I can then join the Illuminati that I have been preparing for through my studies.

While the festival continued with the mingling and dancing, I suddenly felt an uneasy presence. Something evil lurked in the air. It could only be another vampire. The question was who.

    Chapter 5: Svetlana

SVETLANA ANDRONIKOV WAS still grieving from the loss of her boyfriend Asato Ren. It was now May 5, 2015 and there are still no answers about his death. The toxicity report found Aconitum in his blood. Aconite can be found in plants such as Monkshood. The manner of death suggests that ventricular arrhythmias precipitated by the plant material resulted in cardiac death.

It was not clear if the poison in Asato’s autopsy was accidental or if he was murdered. Svetlana was an ex KGB operative for the former Soviet Union.

I know darn well that Asato wasn’t around any plants or flowers during this time. He was in my flower shop just a few days before his death. Aconite that gets into the blood stream has immediate affects. I don’t sell any flowers in my shop that has aconite in them, Svetlana thought.

Svetlana reminisces that her boyfriend was receiving threatening letters from an anonymous source.

    March 6, 2015

Asato came into the florist that Svetlana worked at. He had a worried look on his face.

What is wrong Ren? asked Svetlana.

Nothing I can’t handle, said Asato Ren.

Are you sure about that? This is not like you. How is the robotic program going? asked Svetlana.

The avatar project is going well, said Asato.

You must be careful that no one knows that you stole the original plans. You could get into some trouble, said Svetlana.

I have nothing to worry about; there is no proof of corporate espionage. Look at history. Thomas Edison had the phonograph and his rival had the gramophone. Both were the same thing, just with different names. Therefore it’s the same thing with my project. Mine will be better than my rival, said Ren.

Okay, just be careful, said Svetlana.

I will my love, I’ll see you after work, said Asato Ren.

Shortly Ren left the florist shop and headed home. Svetlana rearranged flowers in her shop. She was also a botanist and loves her work. Soon she heard the door ring and a gentleman came in.

May I help you with something, asked Svetlana.

Yes, I have a message that needs delivered, said the gentleman.

Hours later when Svetlana got off work, she headed to see her boyfriend, she was a little upset. She got out the car and knocked on his door.

Come in, are you okay? asked Ren.

Look at this, what is going on, you is in trouble, said Svetlana. She handed him a note written in red ink. The note reads: You have been warned. Stay away from the project, or else.

Ren looked at the paper and wondered where she got that note. He has been receiving threatening notes very much like this and threw every one of them away.

Where did you get that? asked Asato Ren.

Someone came into the shop today and handed me this to give to you, said Svetlana.

Do you know who it was? What did they look like? Why didn’t you go to the police, asked Ren.

They threaten me. I was told if I go to the authorities they would kill my mother. They knew everything about me and the whereabouts of my mother, said Svetlana.

What did they look like, asked Ren.

He was a regular Japanese gentleman, said Svetlana.

Like that is really going to help me, said Ren.

What are we going to do? I can’t let anything happen to my mother. Whatever you are into you need to stop. If it is the avatar project that you are building, you need to quit, my mother is in danger if you don’t stop what you are doing. You may be in danger too, said Svetlana.

Your mother will be fine, perhaps my people can have her moved to a safer place, said Asato.

Are you serious, you are willing to take that chance, just so that you can continue your robotics project that you’re rival know that you stole? asked Svetlana.

Okay, I’ll stop the project, said Ren.

Thank you Ren, lyubov moya, said Svetlana. He likes when Svetlana calls him my love in her native Russian language.

Svetlana hugged and kissed Ren. Ren swept Svetlana off the floor. He carried her to the couch. They pulled off each other’s clothes and made love on the couch.

They made love with great passion. Ren enjoyed being with his Russian beauty, and she enjoyed Ren.

After they made love they sat on the couch cuddling each other.

So you really have given up the project for me? asked Svetlana.

    Yes, my love, said Ren.

Svetlana shortly left. She got in her car and got on her cell phone.

He said that he will quit the project, said Svetlana.

    (Silence.)

Don’t worry, things will be okay mom, said Svetlana.

Svetlana drove into the mountain of Mount Mitake.  She parked the car where it’s out of sight.

Svetlana entered into a hidden tunnel that leads down inside the mountain.

Inside the place is a world of yoga and meditation while listening to their venerated master, and chanting his words. They kneeled in the lotus position in a room filled with the sound of chimes and the smell of incense. Svetlana removed her shoes and knelt and sat to join the others.

This group calls itself Tav which is named after the Hebrew letter as the seal, the completion sum of all things. This group is a splitter group from the terrorist group called Aum Shinrikyo whose founder was their master Asahara Shoko.

On March 20, 1995 Aum Shinrikyo (Supreme Truth) was responsible for a sarin gas attack that killed 13 people and injuring many more. 5,511people were hospitalized for hours and some for days. Some are still hospitalized till this day. Terrorist placed packages on five different trains in the Tokyo subway system. The packages consisted of plastic bags filled with a chemical mix and wrapped inside newspapers. Once placed on the floor of the subway car, each bag was punctured with a sharpened umbrella tip, and the material was allowed to spill onto the floor of the subway car. As the liquid spread out and evaporated, vaporous agent spread throughout the train as many victims died as blood poured from their mouths.

The new splitter group called Tav claims to difference themselves from the terrorist group even though on the wall was a picture with the founder of the terrorist group, named Asahara hung on the wall.

After some chanting and meditation one of the spokesperson talked.

In the Christian bible in verse Joel 2:30–31 says, I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. Do you know what that means, said the spokesperson.

The others sat quietly and listened.

Astronomical charts have shown four lunar eclipses that will occur from 2014 to 2015. Three of them have occurred on Jewish holidays. There is one more blood moon to fulfill the coming of the Lord. That date is April 4th which is only a month away. We are the completion of all things, we will be that final seal.

    Chapter 6: Meika

IWAMOTO MEIKA WAS sitting in her home on the floor in front of a Chabudai which is a table with short legs. She was meditating and just finished.

Meika haven’t been the same since the terrorist attack on the train twenty years ago. Her boyfriend was the thirteenth victim who died on that horrible day. Meika doesn’t look a day older.

I so wish that I can avenge upon those who killed Haru. All those who were involved have been captured by the authorities, Meika thought to herself.

In the study room was her roommate Chika. Chika was on her laptop doing her homework. She was a brain–computer interface researcher at B.A.R. Labs.

Chika and Meika are both students at Tokyo Gakugei University. Chika was going to school for a teacher training program. Meika was going for a Science and Technology (MEXT) training program.

You ready for the exam tomorrow? said Meika.

    Her voice startled Chika.

Oh shit, I didn’t hear you, said Chika as she almost jumped out her chair.

Iwamoto Meika had a way of sneaking up quickly and quietly, where sometimes she appeared too materialized beside her. Chika was 25 years of age, and Meika appeared to be a little older. She had porcelain colored skin, light brown eyes, and long black hair that came to the center of her back. Meika was half Japanese and half German. Her Japanese features are the most prominent. Only the color of her eyes show otherwise.

    My apology, said Meika.

Okay, you need to let me know ahead of time when you are there, said Chika.

Okay, are you still thinking about going to America for the exchange program? asked Meika.

Yes, I am if it’s possible, said Chika.

I heard America’s education is different than here, said Meika.

Yes, maybe, I still want to see what it is like over there. I still have to go there for business with the Americans, said Chika.

    Business? said Chika.

Yes, some technological advances we have that I can discuss with the Americans, said Chika.

Meika left the apartment and got into her Mazda 2 2014 model which is green in color. In Tokyo one doesn’t even need a car to get around. Meika still don’t feel comfortable riding a train after what happen to her years ago.

While driving Meika was having memories of her father molesting her as a child, she doesn’t know if these memories are real or false. The memories cause her to become angry and when these feelings are overwhelmed Meika harms herself by cutting herself.

Cutting herself was her way of coping with strong feelings. Twenty years ago she was attending psychotherapy. In Japanese psychotherapy they get to the core issues and defenses of the individual. The core issue is the central theme such as issues of feeling inadequate, or unloved. Due to these issues one may make inappropriate defenses in order to adjust to a situation. These defenses can cause self-sabotages such as getting into unhealthy relationships, trying too hard to get noticed. In Meika’s case it was cutting herself.

Meika had this issue before the terrorist attack years ago on the subway. In Japan charts and graphs are used to give a visual form in order to form concepts about the issues at hand. The chart allows one to see the weakness and strengths in their personality makeup. Meika was getting better until the death of her boyfriend Haru who was murdered.

Meika lost faith and hope and quit her job. She found her way to a remote area in Akame which is two hours from Osaka. She learned the ways of the Shinobi of the district of Iga. The female Shinobi is the Kunoichi, in other words, the female ninja.

During her training she had to walk 350 miles between Tokyo and Osaka in three days.

Meika remembers this intense physical training while she had to lean her body to one side in order to be forced to walk quickly in order to maintain her balance.

She also did strenuous jumping training where her and her clan can jump 7 feet into the air with ease.

Her sensei Fujio recognized the darkness within her and decided to work with her solitary to help her overcome that which he sensed inside her. She thinks back those many years ago when he first trained her.

You must learn to let go of the past, said Fujio.

    Okay, said Meika.

I will teach you to be strong. Strength mostly comes from the mind. I will teach you to calm the mind. I will teach you kuji-kiri, said Fujio.

Meika was sitting in a cross leg lotus position. Fujio was sitting directly across from her.

These signs will help you master the mind, said Fujio.

He teaches her hand gestures to use during meditation. Kuji means nine. In esoteric Buddhism and Shugendo (a syncretic Buddhist religion mixed with Shintoism) the Kuji exercises are taught.

Kuji-kiri means the Nine Cuts. In the hand gestures both hands are intertwined. The left hand Taizokai symbolizes the active physical manifestation of the Buddha in the natural world. The right hand Kongokai symbolizes the represents the unchanging cosmic principle of the Buddha.

With the hand gestures the right hand emphasizes the cut of ignorance of Maya (The Illusionary sensory world) through the sword of wisdom. With these hand gestures one would create an opening in daily life to be able to reach different stages of consciousness. Taizokai would be enjoying the moment, the stillness being inside the womb. Kongokai would be the celebration of life. It is this combination of polarities to live life to the fullest. One must cut through ignorance of the ego to be in the now.

While Meika was knitting her fingers together in different gestures she learned to chant Buddhist sutras.

This practice was to restore confidence and also used to hypnotize the enemy into temporally paralysis as if the enemy was under a spell.

After years of training Fujio saw that she refused to let go. Her lack of forgiveness continued to ignite the darkness within her.

You was deceived earlier, yes? said Fujio.

Yes, I didn’t know it was a test. I cannot believe I was fooled, said Meika.

What have you learned from this experience, asked Fujio.

Not to trust anyone, said Meika.

Meika, I cannot teach you anymore. It is time for you to leave, said Fujio.

Leave? I’ll be more careful. I will make sure that I am not fooled again, said Meika.

You did not fail the test because you was fooled, you failed the test because what you learned from the test, said Fujio.

    I don’t understand, said Meika.

All that I have taught you, and you have still learned nothing, said Fujio.

How dare you. I am better than most of these students, said Meika.

You still haven’t learned to let go. If you did, your answer to your lesson would have been different, said Fujio.

Meika use to feel anger when she thought about this. Now it
