Haiku poetry is a form of poetry that is concise and used to convey a singular moment with clarity. Most of the poems in this collection are Haiku. The focal point of most Haiku are of the elements of the natural world. But when focused on the elements of love the Haiku form can be one that is a very powerful tool for evoking the experience of love, loss, heartaches, heartbreaks, let downs, etc.
In this collection Latonya D. Young is utilizing Haiku and other forms of poetry to explore the many emotions that we find ourselves going through when in love, going through a break up, experiencing passion and longing as well as those feelings that we experience at the time of loss.
