When I took responsibility and began to work on my personal issues, my relationships took on the shapes of normalcy and peace. We all have flaws (including me), but the key is to acknowledge and own them. Over the years, I’ve had to accept that loving myself means loving all of me and that level of commitment and self-awareness is what we should strive to attract in a relationship. We must be loved for the sum of who we are - not a percentage. Not everyone is going to get you and you’re not going to get everyone. Last time I checked, there are a lot of people in this world. We should all be able to get what we need from another person who wants to take the time to understand us.
