Andisiwe Ketse is a follower of and believer in Christ Jesus. She credits her faith for everything that she is and has achieved in life. Born and raised in the small town of Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, South Africa, she left it behind to study a BSc in Microbiology and Biochemistry at the University of Cape Town and is currently pursuing a PGCE in Mathematics and the Sciences.Though logical by nature, she is also very creative and has been writing, and later performing, poetry from the age of twelve. Introduction

As I write this devotional, I have been experiencing feelings of doubt and uncertainty. I know what God has spoken over my life, but for various reasons it sometimes feels as if I may have heard Him wrongly. Thoughts that God would never choose me to do great things for Him assault my mind.

I have always taken great solace in reading the stories of the ‘underdogs’ in the Bible. These are people whom God used, despite their brokenness and unlikely pasts; men of faith, women who dared to go against the norm. So, the idea of writing a devotional on a collection of such people seemed natural when God
