One cloudy afternoon in late spring, Tyler was riding his bike home from school. He was a little late, since he had once again sat on the curb by school too long, thinking about dinosaurs. He decided to take a shortcut through the old forest, even though it would be dark soon. He often played there, imagining it full of dinosaurs.
Tyler kept to a small path, trying to hurry as the wind picked up. Suddenly, a strange boy stepped out in front of him from behind a tree! He had on strange dark green clothes, just like Tyler. He was even wearing a matching hat. Tyler skidded to a stop and the boy came up to him. He spoke carefully, as if the words were strange to him, and said You have loved dinosaurs for so long, and have believed you would find them some day. These special seeds are for you.

You must mix the seeds from the green bag with mashed up carrots and potatoes, then plant them in the soft ground. For the red bag, you must go to the other side of the big pond. Tyler nodded his head. When they are halfway grown,
the boy continued, they will come loose from their vines. Then you must find a safe place to keep them. Do not plant more than four seeds from the green bag or two seeds from the red bag at a time. Understand?
Then, he stepped back into the trees and vanished. Wait!
Tyler yelled. What are these seeds?
But the boy was gone. Tyler noticed it was almost dark, so he pedaled home.
It was raining and getting stormy when he arrived. His family was already eating dinner. He rushed into the kitchen to tell them about the boy he met and the bags of seeds. His sister, Emily, said, You’re in trouble!
His mother simply shook
