    Bunch Of Keys

Mary had just returned from work. She worked at a financial institution. She was an accountant. They had had a meeting that day in the office and had closed a bit early after the short meeting. Mary had thought over the meeting of that day with regret. Frank’s manner towards her had still not changed. Ever since after the suspension of Fred from the office Frank’s attitude towards her had not been the way it used to be. Frank had since then regarded her as an enemy. She was, Frank believed, the cause of Fred’s suspension from work. Fred was a very good friend of Frank. The two had attended the same secondary school and had come from the same town. Frank strongly believed it was the report she submitted that caused the friend, Fred, to be suspended from work. The way he spoke to her today was alarming. She was not aware that his dislike for her had got to such an extent already. She would really have to be careful. It was possible that he might by now have started seeking for a fault from her. He was not that kind of person, anyway, but judging from his attitude today she must be careful. Mary was now opening her hand bag to bring out the key to her house. She had opened the bag and had put her hand inside to bring out the key. The key was in a bunch. The bunch consisted of her house keys and her office key. Mary moving her hand inside the bag sought to bring out the keys. She had not seen the keys the place she had thought she would have seen the keys. Mary was now checking again in another area of her bag. Carefully she moved her hand at the area. Mary could still not find the keys after her checking for them the second time. The keys were not in her bag. Mary was now troubled. She had probably lost her keys in the taxi or in an unknown place. Mary was confused. Where would she now start from to search for the keys? She wondered. Her plans for the day had now been distorted. Mary stood there before the door to her house wondering on the next move she would have to take. Many disturbing thoughts went through her mind as she stood there before the door. Thirty minutes
