About this ebook

It's hard not to hate. People, lies, moments when you feel used ... all this steals your identity and buries your soul. And you see how gladly they watch you fall. Then, hate is the only feeling that makes sense. Forget about yourself and dive into the mud. Below that you can't get down. Want! But you have nowhere to go. You have no choice but get up! And, with every step you take, those who tried to bury you fall into the pit they dug for you!
"It was against my principles of life to love an alcoholic and a drug addict woman. What I loved was the idea of family and that's what I fought for. And I loved and I will love Fanija! Forever! But now, when I gave myself this answer, the other one I wanted to know, namely what happened that day when I lost consciousness, didn't matter, I will have that answer but now I put it aside! Now, all the energy is focused on me. I'll be fine! You won't! "

    What do you remember?

    Her...

The doctors and nurses were moving chaotically around me. Through half-opened eyes I was trying to understand what was going on. Voices, noises of medical tools, the constant beeping of the machine that checked my pulse and…her scent. I was trying to call for her but my mouth was clenched. I was looking for her but through my foggy eyesight I could only see the white shadows of the doctors and the nurses’ gowns. I focused on her smell and, lightly, I tilted my head to the left and I saw her. She was beautiful. Beautiful to my heart. Her hair was chaotic and chestnutty strands caressed her face. Her face was slightly frowned and her gaze was focused on what was written on her phone. Her lips were tensed and, yet, seeing them, I remembered the morning dew caressing the velvet of the peony petals. The tight movement of her lips was like the breeze blowing the mountain ridge in the warm July sunsets. She was beautiful, stunning. I didn’t know where I was or what was going on but I felt that I wanted to touch her knowing that the love that we feel for each other will clear my mind. My left hand was clenched and was gripping the bed linens. Inexplicably, my hand relaxed and I stretched it slowly towards her face. She shuddered and leaned back in her chair, her eyes opened wide flooding the room with their shades of Blues, her lips parted and in a trembling voice she said You’re scaring me!. She slowly got up from her chair, she looked at me with tears in her eyes, she turned around and left. It was the last time I saw her.

    - What’s the last thing you remember? the doctor asked.

    - I was sitting in the bathroom with my head on the sink and I was trying to control my restlessness, breathing.

    - Why were you restless?

    - I don’t know, the last thing I remember was about work…

    - And then?

    - Then I felt the bathroom door opening and I heard Blues’ voice.

    - Who is Blues?

    - Blues…Blues is agony and ecstasy, she is Troublemaker as I caress her in my soul, she’s an angel and a demon, my girlfriend, my fiancée, my life, my morning thought, the caress before falling asleep, the joy of every moment. I was annoying to her sometimes but the beauty with which her face was transforming was amazing. She was shining even in those moments of anger.

    - Dudi?

    - Why did you stop me? Why did you steal the joy of seeing her again? Why are you stealing my image of her?

    - You know what day it is?

    - No!

    - What year is it?

When I noticed that I’m struggling to answer, I started to panic. I searched desperately in my mind the drop of light, the bit of sarcasm that would hold me tight and help me understand what was happening to me.

    - Can I cheat? I replied, worried.

    - What? The doctor asked, looking at me wide-eyed.

    - Can I cheat?

    - What do you mean?

    - You asked what year it is.

    - Yes!

    - Today is the 21st of July 2020! I answered after looking at my phone’s screen in search of the answer to the doctor’s question.

Fanija! This name popped into my mind and love mixed with mixed with worry, panic with despair, joy with sadness and thousands of other feelings overwhelmed me. Who is Fanija?

    - Ok Dudi, see you later!

    - But… My words were left hanging as I watched the doctor leave the room. I turned around towards my shadow, the shadow that always stood in the right corner of every room I was in.

Doctors and nurses came in and did all kinds of tests. After hours of investigations, a man dressed in white came closer.

    - My name is doctor Cloud. Do you understand what’s happening to you?

    - No! I’m in the hospital but I can’t remember how I ended up here.

I answered consciously. Aware that I don’t really know anything but I have to find out the truth, no matter how painful it is.

    - Dudi, you may have been poisoned over time with a substance that I did not discover by doing medical tests. However, there is a drug that stays in the blood, urine and hairs for only three days. We know you’re not on drugs, we investigated. You don’t have epilepsy, all the tests done so far are ok, but we go on with the medical investigations. Have faith in us, we will cure you. Now you’re at the E.R, but we’ll move you to another hospital. Do you understand?

    - Yes, I do, I answered trying to accept the situation that was making more and more confused.

Suddenly, I got very worried. Fanija, love, family, Blues. The body movements caused by the agitation ripped the bed linens and made my phone fall off. The machine that was measuring my heart rate started beeping loudly. The nurse opened the door. The shadow in the corner of the room was changing its shape. The clear light of the lamp became blurry. Everything was going black and my voice shouted Blues…. They gave me a sedative and after a few minutes Cloud entered the room with Dwin, my brother.

    - I have to go home; I told the doctor.

    - I am sorry, that’s not possible.

    - Please, I have to. I spoke to the
