Today, I think I'm a bit introverted. Not in a negative sense, but in a positive one. I can look back on my life with satisfaction, even if it took me a long time to find my fulfillment. However, I also had luck. Had I not had this, my life would probably have been very different.

I was already 44 years old when it happened. Although I was not fat, I carried a little belly in front of me. Apart from that, my hair was also slowly getting grayer.

Basically, I was quite dissatisfied with my life at that time. I had hardly any contact with my family. Neither with my father, who lived quite far away from me with his second wife, nor with my mother, who did not seem very happy in her third marriage. I myself had emerged from their first marriages, which did not last long. My parents had divorced when I was only three years old. As far as I later found out, it must have been a pretty messy affair back then. That is probably one of the reasons why I grew up with my grandparents, who had also been dead for several years at that time.

However, as I knew only too well myself, I had not had much luck with my previous relationships. I had not even been married, but I had a daughter with the woman I had been with the longest.

She was already eighteen years old at that time and was studying media design. Since I wasn't allowed to see her often when she was little, we didn't have a very close relationship. That's probably one of the reasons why we rarely had contact, even though she now studied and lived in the city where I had moved to a long time ago for professional reasons. Nevertheless, I wished that everything would be different between us in this respect, because basically I longed for my family and an intact family life.
