About this ebook

Simplistic, funny, hilarious at times, conversational and easy to read. I could not put the book
down. A great spiritual message with fresh perspectives is woven throughout the accounts of a
life lived in Africa, which gets you thinking about your outlook on various events in your own
life, and how you handled them, yet not once did I get the slightest sense or feeling of
condemnation. The story telling has been done with such gentle ease, and with a level of honesty
that is so humbling. Thank you Rika!

Faith Building Thoughts - Rika Lanigan

    A Given Word

    27TH January 2020

I want them to see me in everyday life. Start looking for me in the ordinary. See how they have missed what I am doing in their lives every day. See how I have planned their lives and given them talents they are not using.

My people go to their graves having missed the riches I have planned for them. They look for supernatural things but miss the supernatural because they cannot see the wood for the trees.

    Always A Confirmation

    GIVEN 30.07.20

Do all book-writers worry whether or not their book will be well received? I know I did. Pondered so many days whether or not I should publish what I had written. By now you would think I knew the promptings given me by the Lord.

Well, even when we self-doubt the Lord comes through. Yesterday I sent the book to a friend for her comments. Before she has had time to reply this was given to me in my morning reading from Solly Ozrovech.

July 31st. Priority number one: Knowing God is the heading. The reading is based on the story of the man who was healed and received his sight. The Bible reading relating to this comes from John 9:24 to 34.

My Life Application Study Bible has a note at the bottom of the page for verse 25. He (the blind man who could now see) answered and said, Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.

The note says, By now the man who had been blind had heard the same questions over and over. He did not know how or why he was healed, but he knew that his life had been miraculously changed, and he was not afraid to tell the truth.

They go on, and this is the important part. You don't need to know all the answers in order to share Christ with others. It is important to tell them how He has changed your life. Then trust God will use your words to help others believe in Him too.

Lord, I trust the words You gave me will reach into the heart of everyone who reads this book. That they will see how Your hand is in every aspect of their lives. That their faith will grow daily as they learn how to see Your supernatural working in their lives on a nanosecond basis. Thank You Lord.

    Prologue

How does one learn to trust? To have faith in something or someone? We learn to trust and have faith in people, things, but most of all God, when we have heard, seen, and experienced consistency and faithfulness.

Do you know how powerful your thoughts are?* Do you know how powerful what you listen to is?* Have you thought about why God had the people write down events which would be included in His Word?*

It can be argued that the Bible recounts God’s presence in days gone by, but what about the present? Miracles in the world today are looked at with skepticism. Anything not confirmed by science is looked at with suspicion.

We listen to how God has blessed other people and get that Woe is me feeling of being overlooked. Sometimes our lives have become so
