Hi, my name is Billy Chan, and if you’ve read one of my books before, feel free to skip to the next page. If you haven’t, there are some things you need to know.

The first thing you need to know is that I’m a book character. I know it’s weird for a book character to know they’re in a book, but I do know this, and it’s important that you know too. Why? Because you’re going to help me make decisions in this book, and they can be safe or risky decisions. In life, you want to learn to make safe decisions, but in books, anything goes. Because I’m not real, I’ll be okay even if you make the riskiest decisions possible. There are four endings to this book; try to read them all because you learn something about me and my world from each one.

Finally, I’m a chimera hunter, and you need to know what that means. It doesn’t mean that I hunt. I don’t know how to hunt. No, it means I have a superpower that lets me follow chimeras. Chimeras are mythical creatures that look like mixed up versions of regular animals. They come from different worlds and can get to our world through portals. Only a chimera hunter can follow them back through the portals to their worlds.

Because of this, chimeras usually trust chimera hunters. They don’t have to explain stuff like other worlds to us. Oh, and that’s
