    The Melody Star Harmonica

The Melody Star is a very popular single-tone harmonica in a solo tuning. The large, widely spaced channels are provided with protruding openings and thus makes the playing of the single tone easier.

The range is two full octaves in the key of C major. The so-called solo tuning is mainly used for chromatic harmonicas. This song book can therefore also be used as a preparation for playing or for players of the chromatic harmonica.

A special feature of this solo tuning is the double occurrence of the basic tone C in chamber 4 and 5 blowing. When editing the songs, this identical tone was used in such a way that it matches the respective neighboring tones or the course of the melody.

The next graphic shows Melody Star harmonica with the numbers / symbols used in the book. The numbers can also be found on the instrument, the underscore means draw.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,

    I have already come.

That was grace that brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,

    his word my hope secures.

He will my shield and porion be, as long as life endures.

Yes, when this lesh and heart shall fail,

    and mortal life shall cease.

I shall possess, within the veil, a life of joy and
