Rockabilly is a term that describes the melting pot of styles that emerged as one of the earliest offshoots of rock and roll music in the early 1950s. Rock and roll had emerged in the US during the late 1940s, and itself was a mixture of blues and country – specifically rhythm & blues and western swing, with its jazzier chords and ‘swinging’ rhythm.
