About this ebook

This book is an extremely emotional series of poems. When read in sequence, they tell you the true story in real-time of a love that was intense and so tragic. These poems were never intended to be a book. They were written as kind of a therapy by a very sensitive man in a downward spiral. He was struggling to deal with all of the overwhelming emotions that come with loving someone who is an addict, while at the same time watching the love of his life succumbing to her addiction. While tragic, these poems are also informative. They will give you a glimpse into the life and the real struggles of someone who got caught up in a life and love that took him to the brink of his own self-destruction. Due to the intensity of the poems in this book, I would caution everyone to take their time reading it. Especially if you are in recovery or still suffer with an active addiction.

To everyone else, please use this book as a guide to help better understand what is going on inside the mind of an addict. They are not bad people. Depending on their addiction, they can go unnoticed for many years. But in the end, there are going to be underlying issues from their addiction. Acknowledgment

First, I would like to thank everyone for buying the book.

This book cost me more than just the last year of my life, this book almost killed me.

I know that you may think that this is an exaggeration, but it is not.

I am an extremely emotional man. Sometimes this is a blessing or a gift, other times it feels more like a curse.

I experience emotions so deeply that it affects my entire life. There were times in this past year when I was unable to move, curled up in a ball on the floor. These poems were my therapy to help myself through one of the most devastating times of my life. I lived through everything that is written here in this book. I know they say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. In my case, it’s not true. My life has been destroyed a couple of times in the past. Each time the recovery has been harder than the time before. I fear the time when I will not be able to recover and be lost forever in my pain.

People like to believe that men should be stoic and unemotional. Even though most men generally try to not show it, we feel emotions the same as everyone else.

From the time I was a small child, I always felt that I had a guardian angel watching over me. It must have been my guardian angel that sent me a beautiful angel to save me. If it was not for this angel, I would not be here today to finish this book. We all have our demons from our past. Some extremely powerful demons lurk in the back of everyone’s mind. Do we give into them? Or do we fight them?

Each person has to decide this for themselves. If your demon is, or someone you know has the demon of addiction? This is the most powerful demon I have ever encountered. It can make parents sacrifice their own children. It
