Everyday Candle Burning Magic - Astrid Asher
Candle burning is the simplest form of magic.
People burn candles for many reasons: To find love, a new job, to learn the truth, for protection against evil influences, to overcome a bad habit, to achieve success, or to change their luck. You might have performed a basic form of candle burning when you made a wish and blew out the candles on your birthday cake when you were a kid. Perhaps you do that still.
Candle burning rituals are a lot easier than other magic books would have you believe. A lot of spells call for materials and supplies that are rare, exotic and expensive. But this book doesn’t call for an eye of newt and toe of frog. You won’t need a lock of hair or menstrual blood for a love spell or a voodoo doll for a curse. The rituals in this book make use of common, everyday household items to solve common, everyday problems.
There aren’t any complicated rituals that call for you to burn a candle at midnight, naked, and during a full moon. You don’t need to be a Wiccan High Priestess or a Voodoo doctor. In fact, you don’t have to belong to a religion at all. Everyone can perform these simple rituals to achieve their goals and solve their problems.
These rituals may be simple, but they are also powerful. They are tried and tested. They work. Candle burning magic is an ancient art that has been around as long as candles have been around. The practice has been used in religious ceremonies of many faiths, including Catholicism, Judaism, Hinduism, Voodoo, Wicca and spiritualism, to name a few. This book contains 65 rituals based on effective spells that have been used for centuries.
These rituals have been modernized; it is not necessary to use Latin, Hebrew or archaic-sounding language for them to be effective. You don’t need to use a magical, occult or angelic language like Enochian. However, the wording must not be taken lightly. The phrasing used in these rituals is very careful and precise. Regardless of whether you call them rituals, spells, charms, incantations, prayers, or affirmations, they are words of power that are infused with your true intentions and goals. Combined with visualization, your energy and will power, and the mesmerizing effects of a candle flame, these words will actualize your desires.
Believe in these rituals and they will work.
What Kind of Candle Should I Use?
If the truth be told, it doesn’t matter what kind of candle you use. You can use a taper, a pillar, a votive candle or any other kind. Size doesn’t matter either, although some rituals call for you to burn the candle over several days, or to even burn the entire candle, in which case you may wish to use a votive or small taper candle. Avoid ornamental, overly large or strangely shaped candles, as they can be a distraction when you are trying to concentrate on your work.
Once a candle has been prepared for a ritual it is a blank slate, and the magic is in the power of the words recited to the flickering flame. Just be sure to begin any new ritual with a virgin
candle. That is, a brand new candle—never use one that has been used for another purpose, or a candle that has been used by someone else. Candles that have been used for different reasons retain vibrations that can negate the effectiveness of the rituals.
Furthermore, you don’t need to use a specially colored candle. Many candle burning books and spells will tell you that you must use a red candle for a love spell, a black candle for evil magic, or a green candle to attract money. Of course, green only represents money
in some cultures. Black candles represent evil
according to some magic theory, but in other cultures, black is a color denoting purity. The point is that you can use any color candle you like—magic has no color.
The use of fragrance with these rituals is optional. You can use scent to align yourself to a mood, to purify a room, or to simply to help raise the energy. To achieve this you can burn a scented candle, incense or a smudge stick. Alternatively, you can massage scented lotion or essential oil (diluted with a carrier oil) into your temples and wrists, or add a
