Sorcerers have long held that it’s possible to achieve fame and fortune by magic. The most famous example is that of 1930s blues guitarist, Robert Johnson, who reputedly belonged to a Southern States voodoo cult. The story goes that, as a young and mediocre musician, he went to the crossroads to sell his soul to the Devil in exchange for guitar brilliance and fame. Whether you believe the story or not, he ended up with both, writing songs that have been covered by the likes of Cream and the Rolling Stones.
