    Faithfully Wicked - Teresa Gabelman

    Chapter 1

Wicked quietly closed the door to the twins room, then headed downstairs toward the kitchen. The closer she got the louder the laughter rang out. She swore right then and there if Bruce woke Rose and Jamison she would fry his scraggly ass.

Hush! She hissed as soon as she spotted him. I swear if you wake the twins I’ll—

Bruce threw up his paw stopping her as he continued to laugh. Sorry. He wheezed shaking his head. But this shit is….you have got to watch this.

Not really knowing why, she walked closer to see Bruce staring down at a phone. Why do you have a phone?

Hey, I have to talk to the ladies. He stopped laughing becoming serious. "And TiK ToK."

Don’t ask, she told herself, but when had she ever really listened to own advice when it came to Bruce. If she had listened to herself she would have zapped his ass a long time ago and Bruce would have been well past his nine lives by now. "What is Tik Tok?"

It’s an app where people do short videos of dumb ass shit that is funny as hell. Bruce gave her a disgustingly sad glance when she just stared at him with a blank glare. You have got to get out more.

Rolling her eyes Wicked ignored him and went to grab something to eat before the twins woke up. Once they were up and going, so was she and anything else was put on the back burner which included food.

Seriously, Wicked. When was the last time you laughed, had fun, just took life by the wings and —

You’ve been watching Dr. Phil again haven’t you?

Hey, he knows his shit. Bruce said, then looked back at the phone and began laughing hysterically.

Thorne and Monica walked in, Monica with a huge smile on her face as she stopped in front of Wicked.

Um, okay. Wicked took a drink of her tea. What’s going on? She asked Monica who was still all smiles, then glanced at Thorne who had a knowing half grin on his face.

I bought a building. Monica’s excitement came through in each of those four words.

Wicked frowned in disappointment. Monica we talked about this. You can stay here for as long as you want. The twins will miss you and so will I.

Monica shook her head, smile still in place. No. She clapped her hands together. I bought a building, but not to live in. We are going to open up a bakery.

Still confused Wicked glanced first at Thorne whose grin spread and then to Bruce who had stopped staring at his phone to now looking at Monica. Wicked’s frown deepened as she once again shifted her gaze to Thorne. I know you’re a good cook and all, but a bakery? When are you going to have time for that?

Monica laughed loudly as she ran up and hugged Wicked. No silly. Monica pulled back to stare at her. We as in you and me.

Bruce’s hysterical laughter rang out louder than before and Wicked knew for a fact Bruce wasn’t laughing at his phone. Big…..mistake. Bruce wheezed out between laughter. Have you….ever tasted Wicked’s cooking. He ended that sentence with an exaggerated gag.

Bruce. Thorne warned, his voice low and deadly.

Let me correct that….have you ever smelled Wicked’s cooking. Bruce ignored the warning from Thorne. I have one word for you…..feet.

Wicked Delight Bakery. Monica continued not paying attention to Bruce or the disbelief on Wicked’s face. Your name is perfect. We can be open within a month’s time. Thorne said he’d front me the money to get everything we need.

Whoa….ah, hold on. Wicked realized her voice was high pitched. I can’t cook—

Bruce snorted. You can say that again. Thorne picked up a package of cheese and threw it at Bruce hitting him in the head. Damn, bro. I’m just stating the facts here.

Actually he’s right. Wicked hated to admit Bruce was right about anything. I can’t cook and the last meal I attempted to cook for Thorne did smell like feet.

Monica laughed as if what she just heard about her choice of a partner didn’t matter whatsoever. But I can cook. I’ll teach you everything I know. Baking is easy. We can do this Wicked. It’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and I want you to do it with me. I’ve always wanted a sister, and now I have one.

Wicked felt awful because honestly a bakery was something that had never ever entered her mind of what she would want to do. She hated to cook. And then Monica had to throw in the sister word. Dammit! Wicked had always been alone pretty much, she also saw Monica as a sister, even in the short amount of time they had known each other.

Just think about it. Monica said, the disappointment she was trying to hide crept through her voice. Please think about it. You don’t have to be there all the time. I’ll do most everything. I will help you here and the tattoo shop, as well as with the twins. Thorne said he would help out also.

Wicked gave Thorne a sideways glance. He just shrugged, winked and then gave her that irresistible grin that always had the ability to bring her to her knees.

As if on cue the twins cries came over the monitor. Seriously, when would she have time to do this. Without her magic she couldn’t even eat a meal, shower or barely breath. Then again her tattoo clients were sparse, and she needed to bring in more money. She hated to ask Thorne for money when it was for herself. She liked to make her own way, always had and just because she was married now didn’t make that fact any different.

I’ll think about it. Wicked finally said, then started toward the twins room, but Monica stopped her.

No, I got this. Monica said hurrying away. Eat. I’ve got those precious babies. As soon as Monica left the kitchen area, Wicked turned her stare at Thorne.

What? He threw out his arms innocently.

What do you mean, what? Wicked growled throwing her hands on her hips. "You know exactly what. I can’t cook let alone bake. I’ve never even baked a
