Monogamy 101 Why Men Cheat and How to Remain Faithful - Ron Livingston

    Monogamy 101 Introduction

THERE ARE MANY BOOKS, articles and stories on how and why men cheat. This is not that typical book. I will not go into how men cheat. You already know how men cheat. It’s nothing new. Infidelity is as old as time itself. You can go back to books such as the Scarlet Letter or even quote Jesus, and you will find that infidelity was alive and well then as it is today. So, if you’re mostly looking for tips that give you signs that your man is cheating, this book is not for you. However, if your man is doing many of the things on the do not do list, you should be concerned.

In short, this book is designed to help men learn how to stay faithful to their significant other and what women can do to help them, but from a man’s point of view. If you think this book will just be another excuse that men can use to cheat, stop right here! This book is not for you either. Women tend to take everything personally. Who can blame them? Cheating is very personal. But when reading this book you’ll want to have an open mind. You are about to be educated on what I believe is the real reason why men cheat, based off of scientific evidence and not your typical reasons such as ego, the hunt, or them being or feeling under appreciated. Don’t get me wrong. These are all good reasons, but they hardly explain the laws of attraction or why men want multiple sex partners. So this book is not about excuses. It’s about helping men to help themselves stay committed to a monogamous relationship and the role women can play to help men stay committed to a monogamous relationship. If you understand why men cheat, then you will be better equipped to help prevent cheating in your relationship. It’s a lot of information, and after reading this book you should be able to connect all the dots. This will help you to determine what kind of man you have and/or what kind of questions you should be asking the man you’re looking to have in your life.

Monogamy is defined as an individual who has only one spouse or sexual partner at one time. But before a man can commit to a monogamous relationship, three things must occur. The first: Men must make an internal choice to be monogamous. The second: Men must have a plan that prevents and protects them from cheating. The third: Women must understand the reason why men cheat and take proactive steps to help men help themselves.

Next, in order to get real answers and solutions to infidelity, we must explore the genetic make-up of both men and women. Specifically, the role testosterone plays in a man’s sexual desires, a female’s sexual desires, and how they differ. Then I will include useful tips that men can use to prevent themselves from becoming unfaithful and ideas that women can use to help men achieve the common goal of monogamy. In order for a relationship to maintain monogamy, the attraction to one another must be present. So, I will include useful tips and suggestions couples can use to help keep the spark in their relationship going.

Before we begin, I have a little assignment for you. Ladies I want you to pick five random pictures of women. They can be celebrities, models, or just a random female in a magazine. Then I want you to place the pictures in front of your man and ask him this question. If you and I were not together and you had a choice to have sex with one, two, three or all of these women, who would you chose?  Keep his answer in your head for now. We will revisit this question in the coming pages. Let’s begin!

    The Instinctive Need for Sex

NO MATTER WHICH RELIGION you practice or belong to, the one common theme is that man did not want to be alone. He wanted a companion. Thus we have women, formed from a rib of a man. Although, we will never know, my hunch is that Adam wouldn’t have cared whether her name was Eve, Tina, Nancy, or Christine.

I begin with the story of creation because from the beginning there has been an instinctive need to have a sexual partner, to be fruitful and multiply, if you will. This instinctive need exist in all healthy men and is driven by a hormone called testosterone. Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone. It is produced mostly in the testes and is mainly responsible for the development of the male secondary sex characteristics such as muscle, facial hair, deepening of the voice, and sexual desire.

Although men do have other hormones that are involved in sexual activity, it is my belief that testosterone is the sole mastermind behind countless acts of infidelity committed by men throughout history. Women (who also produce testosterone) inevitably underestimate the power and influence of testosterone. Frankly, many men underestimate this powerful hormone
