I want to share a story about living abroad. The planning, the work, those last-minute jitters before you get on that flight. How to overcome your personal fears. It can be scary giving up your way of life but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I will give you some tips on navigating another country. I spent over 10 years of my life traveling, studying, and working abroad. Going through the anticipation of leaving your home country is a big change. You'll need a guide to give you some inspiration along the way. I will give details on my entire process from booking your flights to applying for your first job abroad. My life studying abroad in Pamplona, Spain then venturing to Munich, Germany to work abroad were some of the best moments, and biggest challenges in my life. During college it was important to gain life experience and build connections. The rewards of building a global network, an international family, achieving high levels of fluency in Spanish and German was well worth it. It was fun, amazing, and challenging. It doesn't matter if you're old or young. If you have a desire to see a piece of the world in another country, Go for it! Life is about enjoying the moments you have. Living abroad is a life changing experience. When I was preparing to go abroad, I would have loved to have someone document their experiences in the form of a guide and put them in a book. This book gives the reader a new confidence in preparing for their adventure abroad. I hope to inspire you to venture among your horizons. I have put together an informational checklist on things you need to be aware of when preparing for your travel, work, and study abroad. Applying for your study abroad is the easy part, preparing your passport early and getting on that plane without flaking out is the challenge. Join me as I prepare you to face new challenges and gain new opportunities.

Introduction
Living and working in Munich and Studying in Spain was an exciting and amazing experience. Having had basic skills in Spanish and German beforehand helped. I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Pamplona, Spain. Afterwards, I also worked in Munich, Germany as an ESL teacher. I taught English at language school during the day and at night worked at a Starbucks coffee shop in Munich. I had previous experience working in one in America. Living abroad I woke up everyday speaking in German, Spanish, and English. It was also daunting not using my native English language only a fraction of the time each day. Returning to America with these three languages, knowledge, and experience of multiple countries. It was one of the best accomplishments of my life, studying and working in a different culture. The knowledge and experience of working in another country and different countries' school systems. When you leave your country in search of knowledge and experience you gain an entire world of information.
It gives you the ability to re-define your work and educational skills. For example, When you work and study abroad you learn to think in a different language. Culturally you learn to adapt quickly to new challenges. In each country, You have a particular set of rules in which you live by. Having a global approach enhances your work and life skills. It is a life-changing adventure to see other countries. It is important to do your research on the country you would like to travel to. Every person should make it a mission to visit a different country in their lifetime. It’s never too late to have a life-changing experience. The world is filled with interesting and exciting places. It’s always important to get some world experience through new sights, sounds, and smells. I encourage you to plan your own journey. Whether it is a short vacation to Paris, or Safari in Africa you will learn so much about the world and yourself.

You do get to see a piece of it. Even if it’s just a trip to a neighboring country. That is still a huge deal. It gives your mind an opportunity to grow in an exciting new environment. I had the amazing opportunity to live, study, travel, and work abroad in different countries. It has opened my mind and changed my life in a positive way. I kept a journal and wrote about my sights, sounds, and tastes.
The global experience of friendship, personal relationships, learning languages, has helped me to appreciate being an American. It doesn't matter what country you are originally from. It is always great to appreciate things you miss about your home country. It’s always good to gain a new experience abroad, but if you decide this is not what you want to do, you can always return to your home country. The goal of this book is to inspire readers to travel abroad and to learn something new. Exciting experiences and sensations await you abroad. The love of traveling and seeing different parts of the world can never be quantified. It’s very normal to be nervous about leaving the comfort of your home country. One of the toughest challenges is leaving your comfort zone. My worldly advice when the opportunities present themselves for you to go abroad take them. I have some wonderful travel websites and apps that will make the journey affordable.
I encourage you as a reader to plan your travel, vacation, or study abroad in advance. When you are traveling, it’s important that you use common sense for personal safety. Use the same safety procedures you would in your home country. The kindness of the people throughout the world will surprise you. In my Journey, I had a lot of help along the way from the local natives.
I want to also encourage you to take the time to learn some other language, but know that if you don’t learn another language, English is a very common language spoken around the world. You will commonly find that most establishments in larger cities have someone that can communicate to you, if your foreign language skills fail. I will show you how to use technology from your smartphone to make your travel experience easier. It’s very convenient and sometimes more affordable to purchase travel tickets through applications on your phone. Taking your own journey abroad through different countries each helps you to understand people, cultural aspects of daily living on a global scale.
This can help you make informed decisions in your normal life if you return back to your home country. It helps you in your social understanding of human psychology. And once you get your first traveling experience abroad you will want to see more places. The great news is that technology has made traveling abroad much easier and affordable. You can download city maps, purchase train tickets from your phone in a matter of minutes. The world is constantly changing and it is filled with amazing technological wonders abroad and inspiring people. You will gain inspiration. It has always been an incredible journey seeing, living, studying, and traveling abroad. As a global traveler I decided to take an alternative route to employment after I complete my college education. Instead of working right away, I decided to travel a bit and work.
Having double majored in Paralegal Studies and in Foreign Language helped my cause. Doing my study abroad in Pamplona, Spain introduced me to the EU up close and personal. The choice was very simple for me. I wanted to teach abroad. The primary focus of this book focuses on my studies, travels, and work experience from Spain, Germany, all the way to Ukraine. I will give you some amazing tools to make your journey abroad easier. In my checklist, I will show you all the things during your time abroad you will need to make you more prepared for the journey abroad.
I want to help share my experiences and teach you about the life of studying in Spain and working in Germany. I would also like to explain the visa process and how it differs between countries. I will explain where to go if you encounter trouble or emergencies in another country. I will also compare and contrast the studying, living, and working experiences of other countries to that of the United States. I also share the process of booking online flights. Giving you basic traveling tips, sharing the process of expenses, currencies, the steps of learning a new language, and using a foreign language in another country in public, over the phone, and through the internet. My goal is to encourage you to plan your own trips abroad whether it is a vacation, work opportunities, or study.
