Those men sent by Mr. Turner would soon catch me. They would drag me back to the freak show. I would probably be disciplined somehow, but he wouldn’t let one of his main attractions go. I would fight. They might just subdue me, anyway, and bring me kicking and screaming back, but I would fight.

I rushed through the field, trying to take it as fast as I could, but it was difficult. My legs turned to rubber, and my lungs were catching fire. Every time I took a long leap, I thought my tits would jump up and hit me in the face. They were the cause of so many of my problems. My mother said, before she gave me away, Those are going to be what save you, Abigail, but she was wrong, they were what doomed me.

They caught Mr. Turner, owner of the freak show’s eye, and he placed me in the show. When I suggested that I might be able to do something else, he refused, and when I tried to run away, he sent his men after me. There were plenty of men willing to capture me and take me back for some money. Times were tough in Rotwood. It didn’t have a pleasant name, and it didn’t have a pleasant future.

My back gave out as I was about to hit the slope. If I could make it there, things would be much easier going downhill, but my back gave up on me,
