But still, you continue to seek until you find the answers to your questions. There may be a season in your life now that you are depressed or suicidal, feeling lost, sad or angry. 28 Years - Mhillie Delos Santos
INTRODUCTION
Dear Friend,
28 years is a collection of poems I've done in some years. These poems are done in fear, sadness, joy, hope, faith and in a search of a dream or purpose or something in between.
I hope you will find a piece of you in some poems. I hope we will meet each other in between.
Before you start I want you to remember these five things:
To love and give without receiving anything in return.Because He first loved us and you are loved.
To smile everyday.
To take care of yourself (eat healthy foods and do not worry).
To seek the Lord with all your heart and to pray without ceasing.
To let go and let God direct you to the right path.
4,383 MILES
AWAY FROM HOME
I. 4,383 MILES AWAY FROM HOME
It is not easy to be far away from the place you were used to be comfortable with and with the people that you had for many years. However, there is a moment that we needed to grow as a person and be the person that God created us to be. We can never grow if we stay in our comfort zone.
In this moment of my life, I’ve never been so far away from family, friends, and loved ones. Philippines is my country. And in that 4,383 miles away from home, I felt at first a sense of fear because I was not used to be in this kind of environment. I wasn’t ready for a lot of things when I came to Dubai. My patience was put to test and I was in a series of depression and suicidal thoughts. In this journey of waiting and striving, I’ve learned two things: to have unwavering faith in God and never lose faith in myself. These poems are like the foundation and the start of something new.
DYING OF THE EGO
You crumpled my soul and throw into the ocean.
You left me with this confused mind
and this broken heart,
unsure where this will go.
I walk in the desert land
to seek and find the lost soul
of this body and mind of where the ego reign.
When I found my missing soul,
It longs for my sweet hello.
Welcome back to my birthing place.
All the lies,
All the brokenness I felt from the past;
Doesn’t hurt me no more.
I am peace and one with myself
My true self.
LET’S JUST MEET IN BETWEEN
You might think I’m immature.
You always say I need to grow.
Neither you and I
need time and space to grow.
How many times this conversation go?
Where we don’t understand where we’re coming from.
Don’t you see you shed a tear
for someone that doesn’t love you back.
It’s sad to know
to hear those words from you,
So I’m keeping a line between me and you
in case you leave me hanging again.
I am not the way you think I am
I just love myself so I
Build a guard to my heart.
You can hear my soul
Saying, It’s enough.
WILD
I went to the forest to find a home
until I found a family.
Into the wild;
there is a mystery,
An answer—
You’ve been longing for.
DRIFTED
Carry me by the current of Your love
to a place where I do belong.
I feel like a stranger,
lying to myself
Doing what I am not.
When I arrive where I belong
I will rejoice
because I only have a limited life on this earth.
I use it for the glory
of the goodness of Your Grace.
CANVAS
My life was blunt
till I choose the color
to paint this blank canvas.
To start is to see—
The beauty you had made.
SUN
I can be your sun
that shines so bright;
To take those lonely days;
To wipe those tears at night.
You know I’m just there
when the moon collides.
You know my solar flare
is brighter than your fears.
So, the next time you’re scared
just take a look at my photosphere.
TIME TUNNEL
I wonder how our old friends then
How do they live?
What do they do?
During World War 1 & 2
what life felt like?
I always felt like an old soul.
Been dreaming of
