The Diet Smile

As the limousine arrives at the familiar home, paparazzi cameras aim at the famous mansion door as it opens. And questions erupt as Jasmine Gem walks steps out towards the crowd.

"Are you excited about The Oscars this month?"

We have no comment, Jasmine’s agent replies for her.

Cameras flash every angle as Jasmine Gem reaches for her phone.

Jasmine, her agent whispers in her ear, "are you sure this will work?"

Trust me, she assures. You haven’t met my friend Dedra. This will work! Sometimes the truth is a treasure hunt. Sometimes the best map is a mirror. We’ll follow the ones running from it.

Okay.

Here, Jasmine hands her phone to him, take my picture.

"Seriously? With all these stalking cameras blocking our path, you need me to take your picture?"

It’s for the plan! Please make sure it’s a full length picture.

Say cheese.

Say ‘cheese’ when my smile is on a diet? Jasmine asks sarcastically. How about I say… ‘Tofu!’

Excuse me Miss Jasmine, a little boy approaches, can I please have your autograph?

Sure handsome, Jasmine says while reaching for his blue paper. What’s your name?

She’s over HERE, a news anchor interrupts, signaling her crew over.

Jasmine looks up to see a new tide of reporters and surprise appointments running towards her.

"Channel 21 News here with an exclusive live interview from Jasmine Gem about her biggest honor yet!"

We go to go NOW, the agent says as he pulls Jasmine’s arm, barely missing the microphone’s kiss. No comment. NO COMMENT! 

The crowd chases her almost inside the limo, as the agent aggressively slams the door behind them.

Alright here’s your phone back, the agent offers. And that’s your diet picture.

Perfect, Jasmine observes. This will work perfect. 

And the movie director just called me. I told him we’re running late.

Thanks again. Just remember to pretend… when it happens, okay?

You got it, the agent confirms. Can I ask you something? 

Strategically waiting until the limo driver gets out to get their bags, the agent continues his concerns and curiosity.
