Scrum Master Fundamentals - Foundations
Agile development teams are choosing to use the Scrum framework more than ever. This course will help you become a Scrum Master by introducing the underlying values of Scrum, its relation to the broader agile approach, and the concept of sprints.
Course Overview
Agile is quickly becoming the leading approach for high performing software development teams with Scrum overwhelmingly becoming the framework of choice for those teams. If you have suddenly found yourself in the Scrum Master role and need to help your team perform to their fullest potential, or if you are a seasoned Scrum Master looking to deepen their knowledge of the Scrum framework, then this course will explain the underlying theories and values of the framework to help you make the most of Scrum. Some of the major topics that we will cover include understanding the overarching Agile approach and how it relates specifically to the Scrum framework, getting the most out of your sprints, as well as choosing the sprint length that's right for your team, and how to identify those environments where Scrum is likely to succeed, as well as those environments where Scrum may not be the right choice. By the end of this course, you will know how Scrum relates to an overall Agile approach, as well as understand the more in-depth theories and values behind the Scrum framework itself.

Moreover, we will learn about the core values of Scrum, including how they relate to the broader Agile values, as well as how the Scrum framework enables them. Finally, we will learn about what types of environments or projects that these values make Scrum very well-suited for, as well as what types of environments that Scrum may not be the best fit.

The terms Scrum and Agile are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing. Agile is a broader philosophy on how to best approach shipping software but gives no specific recommendations on how to do so. Scrum, on the other hand, is a specific framework for managing software projects, which embodies many of the beliefs outlined in an Agile mindset. Scrum is just one of many frameworks or processes that are often considered part of
