    Introduction

Are you sick and tired of your day to day activities? Do you feel like you have too many emotional burdens that won’t let you get on with your life? Is your mind in a constant debate with itself?.

If you answered yes to any of these three questions, then may I suggest you try a different approach to your problems? So, instead of bouncing back to ‘’yourself’’ and react to any situation like you usually do, why don’t you try something that is so different yet so effective, such as mindfulness?.

I know most of you are probably wondering about what mindfulness truly is because it looks so simple, right?…and if you want a short answer then it is one of the most basic abilities humans have, but we have simply forgotten about it thanks to the constant bombardment of information we currently receive 24/7.

You see, mindfulness is the ability to be fully present right in this concise moment. This also means that you are fully aware of where you are (not in terms of physical location, but in terms of your consciousness), and you know exactly what you are doing.

Furthermore, mindfulness also means you have the innate tools to understand how your mind, body, and soul work, and in return, you are able to perceive when you are being reactive or overwhelmed by a situation or a feeling.

Even though anatomically speaking, your brain isn’t a muscle, it contains a bit of muscle tissue (presented as grey and white matter), thus if you want to take full advantage of this, you have to train it.

In other words, if you would like to practice mindfulness, you will have to train yourself to do so. And how do you do this? By trying mindfulness on a daily basis, simple as that. After all, it doesn’t cost a thing, it’s fun to do, and it will give you the answers to things you weren’t probably even asking before.

Because mindfulness brings an awareness to what you are currently experiencing, it can be argued that either your thoughts and emotions, your self-talk, and even your senses are constantly being checked up through your mindfulness practice.

So, you can start your mindfulness journey whenever you feel like it, it will only require you to either meditate or to do any other techniques you feel comfortable with (such as breathing, walking, or even dancing), and they will allow you to separate your true self from the conditioned responses you are used to having.

Always remember that one of the aims of mindfulness is to bring your whole attention to those experiences that are occurring in this right moment, without emitting judgments towards them.

The beautiful thing about mindfulness is that it is as simple as it sounds. However, this isn’t a magic pill you will swallow and voila! All of your problems will disappear. In reality, mindfulness encourages you to live a simpler life where you gradually become more aware of not only yourself but those who surround you.

So, whether you are looking at having a new sense of self, or you are willing to rediscover those things that make you
