Receive Your Miracles and Breakthroughs - Konstantine Andeson

    1. God’s Word

Key Verses 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of Godmay be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Before we start this book, let’s get one important concept right. The bible which is God’s word: Who was it written for? Is it for non-believers or believers?

Before we answer this important question, let me tell you a story to illustrate my point. A father goes to another country to work for a long period of time and he cannot visit his family for five years. So he writes an email every week to his son whom he loves very much. He asks his son how he is doing in school and also leaves instructions on how to be a good boy. Would this father forward his personal emails to every child on earth? Why or why not?

The answer is obvious. The father will only write a love letter to his son, not anyone else. The bible is God’s love letter to us, his beloved sons & daughters. Why would God write a love letter to people who are not his children and don’t believe in Him?

This is important because there are people who believe only certain parts of the bible is relevant to them. There is no verse in the bible that states that all blessings written in the bible belongs to believers while all the curses belong to non-believers.

There is also nowhere in the bible that states that a believer can choose whatever verses he or deems fit for himself and the rest he can ignore or discard them.

This is important because many believers choose certain verses and phrases from the bible to defend their ungodly lifestyles instead of conforming their lifestyles to God’s word. If you disagree with what is written in the first chapter of this book, it would not be fruitful for you to continue reading it.

    God’s word is important.

    2. Humble Yourself

Key Verses 1 Peter 5:5-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Key Verse James 4:6 But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: God opposes the proud but He shows favor to the humble."

If today you have a pressing problem and challenge or have a need that has not been met for a long time, humble yourself before God. Humble yourself because you are not better than God. Humble yourself because God is greater than all of us. Humble yourself because God resists the proud and we need God’s help.

Humble yourself to hear the Holy Spirit’s instructions. Humble yourself to learn something new. Humble yourself to see the problems, challenges and your needs in new light. Humble yourself to receive new revelations, wisdom, insights and understanding.

Many of us wants to solve our problems using our ways using and our own abilities. Our ways may not be the correct solution. God ways are higher than any of our ways. He is wiser and superior than all of us.

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

John 3:31-36 The one (Jesus) who comes from above is above all ...

Remember that God wants us to humble ourselves so He can lift us up not to put us down. God wants to help us to find a solution with us.

Humble yourself before God so He can lift you up.

    3. Listen to the Holy Spirit

Let’s say an overweight obese man wants to reduce his weight and to slim down to look like a supermodel. He declares, In the name of Jesus, all fats cells die!

Do you think this man will be able to slim down? The answer is obvious. Let’s say the Holy Spirit instructs this obese man to have a healthy diet and to exercise regularly. If this man refuses to do what the Holy Spirit says, would he have any breakthroughs?

Why is it important to listen to Holy Spirit? Because every problem and challenge is different for different people in different situations. You cannot expect to repeat or use the same solution which works for another person. Don’t imitate the solution that works for someone else. Go directly to God and ask Him to direct your paths. It’s never a formula or routine.

What works for someone, it doesn’t mean the solution will work for you. For example, if someone shares a testimony that a millionaire paid his debt, it doesn’t mean another millionaire will pay your debt. God could work this way or another way. You need to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. A believer may share his or her testimony but you sure won’t use the exact same method that they used to get their breakthroughs.

Have you read God’s word the bible? Almost every miracle is different. God knows the most accurate, practical and best way to solve your unique problem or challenge. You need to listen to Him. Solving challenges and problems is not magic. Our Savior is a creative, innovative and very practical God so let’s go to Him for our solutions.

John 21:6 He (Jesus) said, Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some. When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

The disciplines listened to Jesus’ words and obeyed His every instruction. Let’s substitute Jesus with the Holy Spirit as Jesus has returned to the Father and it’s the Holy Spirit dwelling in us now. The Holy Spirit is our guide & helper now.

One day, I asked God how He would describe my relationship with Him.

This is the illustration I got: We are drivers in our own cars. The destinations and places we drive to represent our lives and where we are want to go. The turns we make and the routes we take represents the choices we make in our lives. The Holy Spirit is in our cars.

The position where the Holy Spirit is is extremely important. For some believers, the Holy Spirit is at the co-driver’s seat beside us (drivers). The Holy Spirit is the navigator constantly leading and guiding us. We listen to the Holy Spirit and constantly ask Him for directions. The Holy Spirit therefore is our ‘Navigator’. The Holy Spirit is a better map than any online GPS systems.

For other believers, the Holy Spirit is at the back seat. The drivers just go wherever he or she wants. They don’t ask the Holy Spirit for directions or guidance. They can hear the Holy Spirit because He is in the back seat talking but since he is the back seat, they just do whatever they want, anyway and any time they want. The Holy Spirit therefore is their ‘Passenger’. Since the bible says God will never leave or forsake us, the Holy Spirit goes along for the ride.
