The family moved to Liverpool in 1943 to escape the constant bombing of the city by the Germans, and the terrible poverty in which they were living. Patrick and his elder brother Evan, 95, are the only remaining siblings. He lost his sister Betty to suicide aged 28, and his brother George died aged just 21 in an army accident in Egypt. He is buried in a military cemetery in Cyprus. Patrick, almost 91, enjoys bowling, playing chess, and writing short stories, and has only recently stopped playing golf.

Angels and Mother Nature - Peter Roberts

    Mightier than the Sword

An angel whispered in my ear

She said Write down what you are about to hear

I replied I do not have a pen

She said Well go and find one then

All I could find was a bottle of ink

And then the the angel paused to think

Now whenever I write it is always a thrill

For an angel's feather is my quill

    The Resonance of Truth

To speak of the formless with words of form

May seem pointless and wholly subjective

But when we point to the truth the heart can respond

And allow us to perceive from an enlightened perspective

    Ephemeral and Eternal

Our physical bodies are comprised of stardust

The energy of atoms in perpetual motion

Our hearts are flames of eternal LOVE

Cherish your flame with self-compassionate devotion

    Right Direction

We find ourselves in the midst of creation

And we may sometimes wonder Why are we here?

If we try to answer with the intellect

We may find that we are faced with fear

We might think that love is just an emotion

But we create emotions they are not our Source

LOVE is the ONE who gives birth to
