About this ebook
Life is meant to be beautiful and abundant. Yet, for many people, myself included, life is sometimes simply a hopeless observation: we observe sickness and disease harass humanity, we observe the cost of living getting higher, we observe changes in our countries and governments, we observe climate change and global warming, we observe our families together with all humanity struggling to make sense of everyday existence. I am convinced that I, and everyone else who is tired of being tossed whichever way life chooses, need to get off the observation deck. Jesus died on the cross to get us off it and I believe he meant it when he said that he came that we might live life abundantly. "Shiro's Guide to Becoming an Up!Sayer and Living Abundantly" draws on the truth of God's Word to boldly declare that abundance in every area of our lives is ours by right! The right given to us by Jesus' finished work on the cross.
In the first part of the book, I explore why being an Up!Sayer is biblical by discussing effectual prayer and how to wait effectively for the answers we seek. There is no doubt from scripture that God is both willing and able to answer our prayers. With each claim I make in this regard, I have supplied confirmatory verses that prove it is not wishful thinking. I then proceed with a three-step guide on how to create a personal Confession List of Bible verses and how to synthesize this into a personal vision of answered prayer. It is then followed by Confession Lists that cover the fundamental areas of our lives such as God's Love for Us, Family, Health, Wealth and Prosperity, and others. For each Confession List, I follow up with a paragraph entitled: In My Own Words; this is where I vividly describe what my version of the answer looks like in my reality.
The second part of the book offers a 31-day confession and prayer guide. It can be followed from any date of the month and there is a choice of four verses taken from the confession lists. Please select one to meditate over on that day or select from the longer confession lists or from the Bible. I have also included prayer starters to help you design your prayers for each day.
Much as I would encourage every reader to read through the first part's exploration and understand becoming an Up!Sayer, Prayer and Waiting, you are free to start applying the Confession Lists and prayer starters immediately. God's word is limitless because he who spoke it will make sure it comes to pass.
Welcome aboard this new way of living as you step off the observation deck of life.

DEDICATION
To my husband, Ziphah, and children, Sally and Eddy: Thanks for being the best prayer partners I could ever wish for. You give me a reason for praying. Thank you for sticking with our individual prayer days. May this tradition carry on to future generations. Thank you for bearing with my confession lists on the doors, fridge, bedrooms and in your inboxes. Thank you for helping me clean out the smudges of glue with nail varnish remover from these surfaces when we are moving house and have to tear them off.
To Melissa, thank you for all the prayers we made when we were younger and could spend Sunday afternoons in church instead of going home. Those prayers were a prayer bank that God has honored to this day in both our lives.
To Bright and Kate, thank you for being our spiritual big sisters then and for keeping the faith.

God is welcoming us to partake of his love, his offer of salvation, his goodness, and eternal life. Copy and paste this confession list to a very accessible place, print and hang it on your wall, or even learn it by heart. The rest of the book offers more, this however is an easy condensed version. I welcome you the Kenyan way by saying, Karibu

PROLOGUE
It’s summer 2021. After going through 2020, a year filled with sickness and death, lockdowns and quarantines, unemployment and flailing economies due to covid-19, we can only say: It’s been the Lord who has protected us
. And even with the vaccination process underway, news of variants of the virus and flare ups in certain regions of the world keep many unable to work, move freely or get rid of the fear. The face mask is a common feature, and many have become tired of it. However, through it all, as a family we have seen God’s goodness.
I published the first version of this book in 2019 without the second part. However, when I would read through the confessions, I would realize that I would always gravitate to the same verses I had always known. This was because I would select one of the topics and read all ten verses out loud, without a plan for retaining and meditating on them. I realized I needed to know more than a few of these verses well if I wanted to face daily life in faith.
According to 2 Corinthians13:1, Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
In the writing of the book, I had discovered that the Bible is not only an instruction manual for successful living but is also a promise book of God’s unfailing love and sustenance on a daily basis, and every promise has multiple mentions in the Bible. This means that I need to have multiple verses on an issue that testify to this, from the different witnesses who wrote the Bible. All Scripture agrees. This gives me the God-given right to believe and receive what God has offered me. In 2 Timothy 2:15 Paul charges Timothy to be a workman who does not need o be ashamed and who correctly handles he word of truth.
From Jesus' experience in the wilderness during his forty days of fasting, Luke 4:3-13, we see that the devil knows scripture. After realizing that Jesus would respond to each temptation by saying It is written…
, the devil decided to tempt Jesus by using scripture. He mis-applied the Bible in an attempt to cause Jesus to sin. This was
