After retiring from the army, Logan Shelton finds himself at loose ends. Then he goes to buy a car from a man, and his life takes a strange turn. After the man's death, Logan discovers the man left him all of his personal belongings.

In the glove compartment of the car, Logan finds two letters and a package, and discovers the first owner of the Camaro is haunting him. The more he learns about the man, the more Logan is determined to deliver the letter and package.

As Logan begins his mission to take the items he found in the car to the man whose name was on them, he meets Dawson Harrow. Dawson is a professor of military history and a psychic. Logan's story intrigues the handsome professor, inspiring him to join forces with Logan to complete the package's journey while exploring the attraction between them.

Chapter Five

The jungle is quiet tonight, he thought, as he sat with his back against one of the foxhole walls. He hated when it was silent, because it usually meant the enemy was about to attack. Yet he had no proof, and he couldn’t hear any movement out amongst the trees. If it wasn’t the enemy, then something else moved through the forest, and it was a predator.

Trying to stop his mind from making up bogeymen in the night, he thought about the man he’d left behind. He smiled as the memory of his laugh and the echo of his touch brought back peaceful moments where he didn’t have to worry about being killed. Times when he could lie next to a river, staring up at the blue sky, and not think about who might be floating under the surface to grab and kill him.
