      LUCIEN HONORE MARTEL stirred in his luxury casket, not quite sure what woke him. The black-out curtains of his rented bedroom had been drawn shut when he’d gone to bed at dawn, and he had locked his door just in case Henry forgot and did his knock and barge in routine.
