About this ebook
A millennial vampire needs a place to sleep - but rent his high.
Meet Lucien, who took a chance at eternal undead existence. But being a vampire isn't what Hollywood would want you to believe. A millenial vampire doesn't have a mansion or old, unlimited money.
He works the night shift, ducking the sun as best he can. If he only had an ethical source of fresh blood to live on, and a dark, soft place to sleep!
Behold, adventure awaits!
This story first appeared in the 2020 OBSESSION anthology of original fiction, edited by Mark Leslie, by Stark Publishing.

LUXURY CASKET
The casket’s lining was smooth and lush and padded. Henry pressed its cushioned bed with his hand again and again. He tried to imagine what aunt Rose would’ve felt like if she could have, indeed, experienced the deluxe memory foam and the careful pleats of slinky, luxurious silk.
Some dead slept better than most of the living, he reflected as he allowed his thoughts to stray to his days on the street. Back then, he’d have slept in this lovely thing and shut the lid on himself just to keep the rain out. His place under the highway overpass had never been as nice as this.

The inherited two-bedroom fixer-upper, a living room filled with second-hand furniture. A previously-loved laptop on a scarred office table in the corner.
A kitchen, one with a working refrigerator and a stove with two still-good electric burners. The scent of simmering summer vegetable stew reassured him that yes, this was his.
Clothes on his back, too. A bed. A wardrobe.
A sunny patch of soil where he grew food.
And all those things, with the possible exception of his toothbrush, were second-hand, because Henry Holling knew better than to waste good things. Even now that he could buy
