Blood: Lucien Honore Martel

About this ebook
As Lucien, the millenial vampire in search of "ethical blood" regains his memories, his renewed contact with his cousin Lauren reveals that she's allergic to garlic.
Intersting... it might be a false alarm, but it might also mean Lauren will soon need a guide to the world of the Undead.
This stand-alone short story is one of several in the Lucien Honore Martel world, where Millenial vampires seek consensual blood donors the way they used to hunt down sources of organic baby kale while still alive.

BLOOD
LUCIEN HONORE MARTEL stirred in his luxury casket, not quite sure what woke him. The black-out curtains of his rented bedroom had been drawn shut when he’d gone to bed at dawn, and he had locked his door just in case Henry forgot and did his knock and barge in
routine.
It wasn’t Henry, not today. Henry was at his coding boot camp, and besides, he knew Lucien’s schedule and knew better than to wake him up at noon. Just like Lucien did now, Henry used to work the night shift and even though he was a quiet and not quite sociable guy, he was considerate.
Considerate enough to donate a bit of blood to sate Lucien’s need every so often. His comparatively low need for social contact turned out to be an asset. As far as Lucien knew, Henry had no issue with his vampiric nature and just considered him a little different.

The screen of his smartphone shone bright, even in its perpetual night
mode and
