Introduction what is selfism?
I have a life to live, and you have a life to live.
However simply ‘living’ isn’t just the goal, but becoming the utmost best possible version of yourself is and that’s exactly what Selfism is. Selfism isn’t a word but rather a concept I created I’m sure you’ve read different types of self help/ counselling books out there but this is different only because the laws of becoming a selfist (The person you dream of becoming) is organized in a simple way to help you along your journey. Nowadays there’s this new wave of self love and confidence figures out there on mainstream media, yet they make it looks so easy. Still they don’t teach you what it really takes to live your best life or be your ‘higher self’.
I understand your struggle, your mind may be buzzing with questions on how on earth you can start on this journey of self development. But please understand that this isn’t about anybody else but you, and you need to have that commitment within yourself to do whatever it is that you need to do. No matter who likes it or not, where your current position is in life right now or how you can do this or that. The world is constantly growing and thriving and so should you, if you hope to make a change In the world you should start now.
In the 11 laws of selfism I cover healing ( past troubles and letting go) , strategy, respect, confidence skills, self acceptance and dealing with negative thoughts. This book is ideally for anyone of any age to get the kick-start in life and I hope my words can serve as a inspiration to you.
Know yourself
The first law of selfism is to know yourself, It sounds simple but you’d be surprised by the amount of people who don’t even know themselves. 2 plain questions but yet quite difficult to answer, 1. What’s your biggest strength? 2. What’s your biggest weakness? You should know the answer to those questions when you learn to truly know yourself. The first step to knowing yourself is to know your potential, know what you can do with full confidence.
What’s your skill or something you’re very good at, and if you cannot find the answer to that, write a list on your interests and the things you like. By knowing what you like it says something about the type of person you are, for example if you like art and drawing it shows you are very creative. This also applies to your music taste too, do you like mainstream music or are you a bit different.
In this life the greatest issue with not knowing yourself can result to you being lost and perhaps confused with your identity, and looking externally without looking internally (within). Make yourself a priority and spend more time alone, and if you’re the extroverted type don’t be afraid to sit down with yourself. With no distractions, ask yourself this question ‘who am i?’ Now you might say your name but whatever answer you come up with on your mind question the answer, remember questions build focus. Have you found your purpose? and if you have not, create one that you feel comfortable with and that resonates with you. With that purpose you have created, act upon it.
Knowing yourself is to be able to know exactly how you would respond to a situation. Speaking of situations, however way you react to a situation reveals your stability in yourself. If you’re the type to panic and use emotions and let your mind control you then you have less stability in being able to control your emotions and thoughts. The smart way to respond to a situation is to always focus on the solution, not the problem and always search for ways to outsmart the problem.
––––––––
The way we act today could be from our past experiences and how those experiences have affected the way we think & feel about ourselves. This is when the self analysis comes in, take a look at your behaviour and ask yourself where does this come from? And see where that certain behaviour has rooted from, now the power is in your hands to change that and to improve. The truth is, everyday we humans are getting to know ourselves and learning something new, it takes time and commitment to know who you are and you must be willing to make the extra mile.
You should be able to identify how confident you are in making decisions for yourself, is it because of other people? Or for yourself? Life can be complicated sometimes and whatever life throws at us no matter how bad or how good whichever way you respond to it tells you about the person you are.
The more you know and learn about yourself, the more confident you become because you feel proud that you are able to know who you are. And if you don’t feel proud, feel good about it, because you know yourself best and when you know yourself best other people who try to tear you down will almost be irrelevant to you because they don’t know who you truly are.
As for who you are, it’s important to know how far you can go with your potential and to really question your self-limiting beliefs. Be honest with yourself has your self limiting beliefs stopped you from getting large opportunities? If the answer to that is yes then you must question that belief also find out how long you have had that certain belief. Where does it stem from? Family? Friends? Does it pop up in your mind every single day?. It’s a stepping stone to find out these things because you now know not only who you are but what’s really stopping you from achieving your dreams, goals etc. which
