    CHAPTER 1

    Within this world everybody desires something. Fame, love, money, freedom, order. And to gain these things we will fight harder than anything we’ve ever fought for. Sometimes even hurt others for if the desire is strong enough, if it manages to consume us enough… And you don’t really think about it. About if whether everything you’ve gone through to gain that desire was truly all worth it. Worth the pain inflicted, the hurt felt, and the lives taken.

    This is war at its core; two, three or more sides fighting each other, led by men with desires, neither good nor bad, just selfish. Knowing that lives will be taken through the pursuit of their desires. Followed by all the despair and chaos that reigns with it.

    This is war. We all see it, we all live it, yet we do nothing to stop it. It just seems like the only way to end it is to continue fighting. And I don’t believe that, but I’m in no position to do anything else.

    Fighting is all that we can do.

    For this is war.

    A big brooding man stands before me, clipboard in hand, and a stern look upon his face. In a husky voice he asks, Full name, age, and place of birth.

    Takashi Hiraku, 19, Tokyo Japan, I respond, back straight, and full eye contact.

    The man starts flicking through the clipboard and scanning the pages attached to it. He pauses and looks up at me, looks back at the paper, and then at me again.

    "Takashi Hiraku, hey? So you’re not just some young inexperienced scrub. Heh,
