About this ebook

A POETIC JOURNAL INTO THE NATURAL, THE SUPERNATURAL, THE DEMONIC AND THE ANGELIC, STUDYING THE OTHER-WORLDLINESS TO BE FOUND IN A SUBLUNARY EARTHBOUND DAY-TO-DAY LIFE.

Let us travel once more with J J Ginty between the many contemplative layers to be found within the twilight dominion of one man's gothic past, present & future; visualizing, romanticizing, prophesizing through Heaven & Hell – detouring via Purgatory: exploring the intriguingly varied facets of life, death, love, loss & remembrance, … materializing within vivid glimpses into afterlife, spiritual foretelling & clairvoyant visions, … to reveal a compendium of ghostly sensualities, celestial divinations & apocalyptic reveries through the author's absorbed hallucinatory mind in search of Liberty, True Consciousness, & Being.

The nineteen poems herein also include J J Ginty's more temporal views of the world (it's not all dreamscapes & spectral apparitions), as he explores and soul-searches the realms that make up the human mask: Mental Health, Suffering, Addiction, War, Conspiracy, Government, Big brother, Religion, Ancestry, … and, of course, the thin veneer of all that which we believe to be Civilization.

The author also brings us his poetic considerations on Beauty, Nature, Intimacy, God, Salvation, and the intricate sensibilities to be found in one's own childhood memories.

Contains strong language.

Dedicated to the 'Isolationist':

Those who generally feel somewhat adrift

Those who perhaps feel they are something 'other'

Those who don't always believe in what is seen, heard, taught or disclosed

Those who are of a deep & introspective nature

Those who occasionally like to stick two fingers up at the external world

Those who are inwardly travelling Time.

In Appreciation. Always.

Author

J J Ginty

J J Ginty is an eclectic writer who is indeed a poet by nature and selection; and beautifully exhibits his artistry through the composition of verse and prose. An author who could perhaps write about any theme in any place, in any time, or any space. Composing his work to suit almost any style, and almost any taste. Having a propensity towards the darker characteristics of life (and death); whether they'd be real or surreal; natural or unnatural (supernatural); normal or paranormal; ordinary or extraordinary. It would be difficult to sum J J Ginty up as a writer; but for now, at least, it shall be said ... he is a writer/poet who has crafted his style to articulate the Dark and the Gothic.

    Dark Poetry, Volume 7 - J J Ginty

    IF ONLY

O the unspoken hidden celestial presence am I

Under cheerless shadow of melancholic eye

Beneath the tenderness of her twilight lips

Caressing me thru this silent hour imparting

    ––––––––

The cold earth’s every noiseless footfall

Within your beating bosom my vital pulse tolls

To reverberate far beyond the outer which brings

A soothing rare calm in me in this space

    ––––––––

Beneath the dim veil of tonight only I lay with you

Losing myself under your spell in your halcyon lair

O great woman pray stay awhile

If only to rid all dirge in this one so lost tonight

    ––––––––

If only to live this one moment (or maybe two)

In unspoken celestial presence hidden behind

The shrouded cheerless shadow of melancholic eye.
