WHO IS THIS WOMAN, AND WHY SHOULD I TAKE HER ADVICE?
I’m not a dating coach , nor do I play one on TV.
I’m not a Pickup Artist, nor am I some kind of man-hater.
I’m not the typical person giving others online dating advice. But I am a veteran online dater, and even managed to meet my husband of almost a decade online, despite the odds. I dug through hundreds of online profiles, and went on many bad dates before I finally found him, but the good news is that I eventually did.
And you, too, can meet someone awesome online, I promise.
My history of online dating certainly qualifies me to give advice on the subject. Particularly if you’re sick of all the drama, delusions, and douchebags that come along with it.
Some of you reading this book might already know me from my sex column, V for Vixen
(circa 2007-2009), or my book, The Vixen Files, based on said column. You may also legitimately wonder if my having a sex column during my dating heyday had any significant (positive or negative) impact on my online dating career. Since I met my husband just as my column was starting out, I would say no – although when he first found out about the gig, he worried that I might be one of those swingers
! (Spoiler alert: I’m not.)
Ultimately, I’m just a human being who wants to share her story, along with the tips and tricks I picked up along the way. Experience is the best teacher, after all.
So why should you listen to what I have to say? Because I won’t sugarcoat things, I’m not here to sell you any courses or methods for improving your game,
and I don’t believe in pretending to be someone you’re not – whether that’s online or in the real world. This book includes some of my craziest horror stories from dates gone wrong, advice for how to avoid a similar fate, and plenty of common-sense tips for making the best of your time in the online dating trenches.
WHO IS THIS BOOK FOR?
Another important question for you to consider is who is this book really for?
I wrote this book with a specific type of person in mind: the genuinely nice, intelligent, fun-to-be-with guy or girl who wants to meet their dating match.
Notice that I did not say someone who wants to get married,
or
