Who Do You Worship?
––––––––
Leviticus 17:7 And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.
I read this today in my morning devotions and I must admit I sat there shell-shocked for a few minutes as it absorbed. To worship, to idolize, to sacrifice in any way shape or form to any but Jesus Christ is worshiping the devil no matter how it's tweaked
to sound.
Just yesterday I saw that it was St. Joseph's day. Again, not a Catholic, nor an expert, but seriously?! Pray to Joseph? Why? He's dead. He can't save. He can't help. We pray to Jesus! To worship, pray, bow down, idolize these statues is to worship the devil. Jesus said so.
Again, this week on Twitter I came across a rather disturbing trend. Apparently somewhere there is a statue baby Jesus
who is crying tears of blood. What's behind that? First of all, that's disgusting. Second of all, it's the devil. Anything idolized and worshiped that is not the TRUE Christ is devil worship.
Be very very careful. God will not share His glory with another and has expressly stated that we are not to bow down to idols, nor make idols of any fashion/graven images, including those in His likeness.
Be very, very careful.

Tremble
––––––––
It wasn't even a year ago that I scraped enough money together to purchase a Matthew Henry commentary. I was so thrilled- finally! I could understand the Scriptures deeper. I went through at least seven China markers, highlighting as I read each chapter reference to the chapter I'd read that day. It's still treasured by myself.
Yesterday I was speaking to my sister about reading. She mentioned it's been a while since she's read and I had to admit, me too.
See, I still read the Word of God faithfully, but besides a small three paragraph devotional, I don't pour over books anymore. In fact, the commentary hadn't been opened in three days. Because... the Spirit gives revelation. It's so much beyond surface knowledge. Or hearsay... man's thoughts on things (which, yes, I know, is technically what I do in My Mina
). It's more than things I've simply heard since childhood, but God is faithful to reveal and give more wisdom when we cry out for it.
Today, I read in 2 Kings, in the first few verses was when Elisha helped the young man recover his axe head- miraculously! It got me thinking about how concerned and caring God is for even the smallest detail of our life. He's so good to us.
I buckled in
and read chapter after chapter in my commentary later on this morning and finished with that chapter I'm referencing here. What do you know? Matthew Henry said the same thing. It got me thinking that I don't NEED the reference anymore. I will keep it, but I don't run to it anymore as I used to. And I thank God for that. It's not because I'm smarter- but because God gave me HIs Spirit.
Over the past week, I've gone back into Galatians. Chapter 1 has Paul reproving the Galatians, not to be deceived, entrapped, yoked again. I encourage you to read it yourself! But one thing he said really slapped me in the face
for lack of a better term.
...And profited in the Jews' religion ...
(v14)
That's it. This is not God's religion.
