About this ebook

I Heard You Paint Houses: Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran & Closing the Case on Jimmy Hoffa by Charles Brandt | Conversation Starters

The first words that Jimmy Hoffa ever spoke to Frank, "the Irishman" Sheeran were "I heard you paint houses." In their language, to paint a house is to murder someone. The painting is done through the blood that will splatter on the floors and walls of a house. In the course of almost five years of recorded interviews with Frank Sheeran, he confessed to the author Charles Brandt that he had performed more than twenty-five hits for their mob, and for his friend Jimmy Hoffa. Charles Brandt wrote about these in his bestselling book I Heard You Paint Houses: Frank ''the Irishman'' Sheeran and the Inside Story of the Mafia, the Teamsters, and the Last Ride of Jimmy Hoffa. In this important and fascinating story about Frank Sheeran, Charles Brandt includes never-before-released information on other famous murders. These include those murders of John F. Kennedy and Joey Gallo. Brandt further provides rare insight into a dark chapter in American history. Charles Brandt’s I Heard You Paint Houses: Frank ''the Irishman'' Sheeran and the Inside Story of the Mafia, the Teamsters, and the Last Ride of Jimmy Hoffa is a page-turner that will surely be a true crime classic.

Introducing I Heard You Paint Houses

Heard You Paint Houses: Frank ''the Irishman'' Sheeran and the Inside Story of the Mafia, the Teamsters, and the Last Ride of Jimmy Hoffa is the autobiography told and written in behalf of the infamous mobster Frank The Irishman Sheeran. This book was written for Sheeran by Charles Brandt, a former homicide prosecutor and the former Chief Deputy Attorney General of the State of Delaware. For more than 25 years after the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa, the union President of Teamsters, Sheeran finally admitted that he put two lethal bullets into Hoffa’s head. The book has been interspersed with Brant’s precise and detailed writing together with the transcripts of the recordings that Brant made with Sheeran in the early 2000’s. By the time of Frank Sheeran’s confession, he was already a sickly old man who was living in an assisted facility for the elderly.

The title of the book came from the first-ever words that Jimmy Hoffa said to Frank Sheeran on the first day they met. In the recording, Frank Sheeran explained to Charles Brandt that in Mafiaese, to paint a house means to kill someone. Painting meant splattering blood that all over the walls and floors where the murder will be held. This is Jimmy Hoffa's subtle way of asking Frank Sheeran if he could depend on him to put a bullet in the head of whomever Hoffa said needed to be killed. In many instances, Frank Sheeran did kill a number of individuals for Jimmy Hoffa. In the book, Frank Sheeran mentioned that several of the murders he committed were not only for Jimmy Hoffa but also for other union officials. He also mentioned no name of the victims he murdered, except for Crazy Joe Gallo and Jimmy Hoffa
