The Escape

Just put her in the cage with the vampire for now. Tom is expecting us with important news. The girl will sleep for at least another 3 hours.

What a strange dream, for whom are they talking about? Suddenly I felt someone drop me pretty rough on the cold stone floor. I woke up instantly, but I felt very dizzy and sleepy. I heard the noise of the retreating footsteps, as of a few people and then there was an ominous growl from the left side. It startled me enough to open my eyes and turn in the direction of the sound. Nothing could have prepared me for that sight. On the wall shackled with heavy chains was the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen, but he is definitely not a human. My first instinct was to scream loudly, but I managed to control myself and continued to look at him. The most distinctive was his piercing blood red eyes. They looked at me angrily, as if he wanted to tear my head off. His skin was pale and his thick straight black hair reached his sculpted shoulders. He looks very muscular and strong, and the features of his face are somehow sharpened by the anger that rules him. He was wearing a black shirt and trousers that vividly contrasted against his white skin. Perhaps he was drugged with something to look so angry. They definitely have me drugged with a sedative.

Yes, this is not a dream obviously we are kidnapped by human traffickers. I shivered at this terrible thought. I always thought that such things happen only in the movies. What is the probability of that happening to me? Maybe this guy knows what’s going on? The last thing I remember is that I’m in a hurry to go home and save myself from the pouring rain. I think someone hit me on the head from behind, then everything went black. I felt my head and found a small bump on the left side, but it did not hurt much. Slowly I rose to a sitting position and tried to extract some information from the other prisoner.

Hello, my name is Emma. Can you please tell me who you are, where we are and why are we kidnapped? I held my breath in anticipation of his answer, but he only growled even more angry and showed his long sharp teeth. What if he really is a vampire? Perhaps our abductors have changed him somehow? Probably they did secret experiments and turn people into vampires. Maybe they want to turn me too! That’s why they’d kidnapped me and put me in a cell with him. Somehow I have to get out of this hell, but the vampire who has the answers refuses to talk. Who would believe that the vampires really exist? Perhaps it really is a drug experiment, but that does not explain his eyes and teeth. I decided to try again in the hopes that he is not completely crazy because of what they’ve done to him and will be able somehow to help mе to escape.

Please talk to me. I should at least know why I was kidnapped, why do they do this to us? Tears began to flow over my face despite my attempts to control myself obviously the stress was affecting me. But when I heard his answer I wished he had kept silent.

For food, you are my dinner.

He said it so coldly and disinterested, apparently nothing touched him, not my tears or forthcoming death. How can someone be so cruel! He so calmly announced that he intends to eat me as if I’m some kind of food. No, wait! He never says that he wants to eat me, but only answered my question about the reasons for my kidnapping. If he really is a bad guy and a friend of the kidnappers, he would not be chained to the wall. I decided to continue with my questions. Maybe I will learn something useful. I definitely do not plan to die like someone’s dinner. The most important thing is to stay calm until I escape from here. VAMPIRES REALLY EXIST! Who would believe that?!

What is your name?

Michael.

Okay, Michael, can you tell me why they got you chained to the wall? Are the people who kidnapped us vampires like ... you?

They’re not like me, but they’re also vampires. They chained me because they know that when I get free I will kill them all.

He said it so calmly as if he were speaking of the change of time. Is he totally insensitive? How can he speak so calmly about killing someone? But the vampires who kept us in captivity were definitely not good. They planned to use me as a food and are keeping Michael chained, yet murder can’t be a solution.

Is there any way to get out of here? I asked without expecting a positive response.

Actually, there is a way, but only if you help me. At last he stopped looking at me angrily, his eyes changed his color to blue, and the features of his face were not as sharp as before. Apparently he began to calm down from his anger attack, his words definitely enthused me.

How? I’ll do everything to get us out of here!

On the right, behind the grid on the wall hung the keys to my chains, if you stretch, maybe you’ll be able to reach them.

I looked to the right and the keys in question were quite high. Why have they left them so close to the grid? But as he is chained, he could not reach them. Maybe I will succeed, only if I was not so short. But if I release him, will I be safe with him?

If I release you from the chains, do you promise not to eat me? And how will we get out of this cell? I did not think I’d ever say something like that! But in life you never know what’s going to happen to you. Could I really trust him and did I actually have a choice? I could not escape from the other vampires alone, but I wanted to get his promise anyway. Hopefully he is a good vampire.

I promise not to eat you and to take you out of this place, now try to take the keys before the other vampires appear. He seemed sincere, but I could not forget how angry he was watching me just a few minutes ago. I was not sure if I could trust him, but I really did not have another choice. I went quickly to the grid stretched out, but I could not reach the key, only a few inches did not reach.

Damn it! Cursed the angry vampire, his face was scary again, obviously the anger changed him. But I did not intend to give up so easily. There is always something else to try. I took off my blue blouse, I had a white shirt and bra underneath and I tried to throw down the keys by hitting them with my blouse. Unfortunately, it was not as easy as I’d hoped, but in the sixth attempt I somehow managed. They clattered cheerfully on the floor and I stretched my leg through the bars, it was a good thing that I was wearing trousers today. I stepped on them with my shoe and pulled them into the cell. Now was following the most difficult part to release the tied vampire. How would I dare approach him, could I really believe him? I felt like I was about to release a starving tiger, hoping he will spare me. I think this comparison is quite appropriate for this case.

Yes, well done! Release me and let’s get out of this damn prison! Michael smiled triumphantly but ominous, he still looked like a vampire. Prison! Are we really in prison? Maybe it was abandoned and the kidnappers decided to use it for their victims. Where are we? Now was not the time to bother him with questions, the important thing is to get out before the bad vampires come back. I quickly dressed and went to him and he did not try to eat me,
