I live in the English countryside with a loving spouse, two equally wonderful children and assorted pets who have their affectionate moments – usually when they’re hungry.I like to write adult-themed stories featuring realistic women coping with realistic situations: no vampires, zombies, aliens or eye-watering sexual gymnastics. Any sexual content is appropriate, realistic and fully consensual.Writing is an occasional pastime; my goal isn’t fabulous riches, but simply to entertain.

Catriona got out of the car and stretched hugely. Up here in Lakeland the air was fresh, the sun bright and warm. The silence was not something she’d expected. Out of habit, she checked her phone. No signal. No WiFi connection either. She was offline for the first time in years. Everyone would think she’d had an accident or a breakdown or done something stupid.

Part of her - a small part, but one that had been using its elbows lately - felt relieved. The pressure was off for a whole fourteen days. No need to read every post instantly, no need to come up with something witty or pithy or profound to say every few minutes. She smiled and put the phone away.

In front of her, the holiday cottage her parents had booked was obviously a converted barn. She turned slowly. The barn sat in a minor valley, next to a stream and the road along which they’d driven to get here. Road? More like ‘farm track’. Trying to get here in winter would probably need four-wheel drive.

Beyond the road, hills rose up around their home for the next couple of weeks. Mostly grass-covered, with a few trees and shrubs and the occasional wall. Even city-bred Catriona could tell that no crops were grown here, except maybe mobile ones. On cue a few sheep appeared over the crest of a hill and started grazing. Or browsing. Or whatever
