Ο συγγραφέας γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε σε ένα μικρό χωριό απέναντι και κοντά στο  ακρωτήριο Λευκάτας, τον Κάβο της Κυράς κατά τους ντόπιους. Με την φανταστική αυτή ιστορία προσπαθεί να βρεί απαντήσεις γιατί η αρχαία ποιήτρια Σαπφώ αποφάσισε και έκανε ένα  μακρύ και δύσκολο ταξίδι στο απώτερο δυτικό άκρο του κόσμου της με το γνωστό τέλος .

  Ο πίνακας στο εξώφυλλο φιλοτεχνήθηκε από τον ίδιο τον συγγραφέα.
