About this ebook
I'd rather feel nothing at all than deny loving you.
Call Me Doctor is a Medical Romance from Internationally Bestselling Author Hanleigh Bradley.
"I'm not the guy for you."
It's a sentence I've said more times than I can count. It's usually the sentence that follows, "so, are we...?" or "are you my boyfriend?" or "do you want to come to my sister's wedding with me?"
I'm not exaggerating either when I say it. I mean it. Every single time I say it.
The girls on the other hand, they don't seem to like it.
But I don't really know why they expect differently. I always make it clear from the start. I'm not looking for anything serious. This is just sex. I'm not your boyfriend. I say those sentences and most girls nod and agree or if they don't like those terms, they walk before anything happens.
I respect that, so I don't get why they don't respect my boundaries. When I say those things I mean it but they seem to think that they can change me.
Well to risk sounding like a complete jerk, they're not that good in the sack.
Call Me Doctor is a Companion Novella to the Intimacy Series.
Can this 'Manwhore' doctor have a second chance with the only girl he's ever loved?

Dear Reader,
Sometimes it hurts to fall in love.
There’s always an element of risk when you trust someone with your heart. You’re giving them the chance to completely destroy you.
Some people aren’t worthy of your love while others will treat your love like it’s the best gift you could ever give them.
I hope you all find your own Jarrod.
Hanleigh
I’d rather feel nothing at all, than deny loving you.

"I
’m not the guy for you," I say as I lie naked in bed.
It’s a sentence I’ve said more times than I can count. It’s usually the sentence that follows, So, are we...?
or Are you my boyfriend?
or Do you want to come to my sister’s wedding with me?
I’m not exaggerating either when I say it. I mean it. Every single fucking time I say it.
The girls on the other hand, they don’t seem to like it or perhaps they just don’t understand it.
But I don’t really know why they expect differently. I always make it clear from the start.
I’m not looking for anything serious.
This is just sex.
I’m not your boyfriend.
I say those sentences and most girls nod and agree or if they don’t like those terms; they walk before anything happens.
I respect that. It’s their choice. I’m cool either way. I respect their decision, so I don’t get why they don’t respect my bloody boundaries. When I say those things, when I say it’s just sex or that I’m not interested in the long term, I fucking well mean it but they seem to think they can change me.
Well, to risk sounding like a complete dick, they’re not that good in the sack.
Huh?
She’s bent over, pulling on a pair of skinny jeans. Well and truly fucked, her hair is a hot mess. She has big tits, a perfect arse and if she hadn’t asked me to meet her family, I’d have kept her around for a while.
I don’t do ‘meeting the parents,’
I say, holding my fingers up to make quotation marks.
Er…
From the look on her face it’s pretty clear she’s realised her mistake. It’s okay. You don’t have to.
Wearing only her jeans and a black bra, Lara climbs up the bed before straddling me. Lara is super skinny with the tiniest waist I’ve ever seen.
She reaches down, taking my cock in her hand.
I grab her wrist, pausing her hand’s movements.
Enough.
The margins have been crossed and I’m no longer interested. It’s not that the sex isn’t good. The sex is great. But if she wants me to meet her parents, that means something. It means that she wants something I’m not going to give her and it’s time for me to move on.
There’s one thing the girls definitely can’t say about me. They can’t say that I string them along. As soon as I realise we want different things, I call quits.
I think we’ve done enough,
I say.
Her eyes widen. She’s hurt. I’m being a dick.
I think I should leave.
Her tone is curt.
She’s off me in a flash. Collecting her shirt, she pulls it over her head. Then she rushes to put her shoes on.
I should say something but I’m not sure what I’d say. I’m not sure I want to say anything either. Instead, I act nonchalant. If you’re going to play the part of an arsehole, you might as well do it copiously.
It’s frustrating though. I don’t understand why I have to be the arsehole. If I was the one that changed my mind and wanted more, then she’d be the one playing my current role. Except, it’s never me that breaks the rules, it’s always the girl. So, it’s always me that ends up being the dick that breaks hearts.
Putting my arm behind my head, I close my eyes briefly.
I’d say ‘see you around’ but I don’t think I will,
she says.
I open my eyes, offering her a smile. She’s clearly pissed but I can’t really say I give two shits.
Once dressed, she pauses, clearly fighting the urge to say something more.
You didn’t have to be a dick.
She’s right. It isn’t necessary. It is simply easy.
I’m impressed to be fair. Usually when I have this conversation the women leave screaming with rage.
She turns away and exits my bedroom.
I don’t move until I hear the front door close. Climbing from the bed naked, I pull a pair of boxers out of the chest of draws. I dress quickly. I’ve only got an hour before my shift starts at the hospital.
It’s far too early in the morning for all this shit. I’m pissed off because I hadn’t planned on all this happening today, five days from now maybe, but not today.
Today I had planned on a morning shag, followed by a coffee and then a long, hard shift in the Emergency Room before returning to my bed, preferably not alone.
Lara has done a great job at ruining my mood and possibly my day.
Storming out of my room, I make my way to the living room. Theo is sat there, watching the news.
Alright,
he says when he spots me. Lara left?
I’ve been shagging Lara for the last few weeks and so Theo, my flatmate, has gotten to know her pretty well.
Yeah.
I consider telling him that she won’t be coming back but there’s not really any point. He knows how it goes. He’s not much better than I am.
The only real difference is that I fuck about because that’s the way I like it. Theo, on the other hand, can’t have the girl he really wants.
Our friend, Aurora, recently got married. In fact, all of our friends seem to be getting married; only last month, we all went
